Hello all,

My 17 y/o son and I are working on a 1973 Space Duster/440/727 project . We are looking for headers, engine mounts and k member kit.

Any suggestions..

Thank you,

MJM

Engine Swap Mounts - You might need to get a different k-member because these say they are for 67-72 K-members.

@manzysol Is your 73 a V8 or /6 car? I would trade you a /6 K-frame from a '71 for a 73 V8 k-frame.

Also, I have a 73 Space Duster 340. I have sub-frame connectors because there are no braces behind the seat like in fixed seat cars. I'd recommend them for you too being that you are going with a big block transplant.

schumacher sells mounts for /6 or small block to big block swap. they also sell swap headers that are very nice.

It had a 318. V8 car, blown engine. 340/space duster! That’s sweet. Thank you for the advice.

If you’re a fabricator building your own motor mount brackets shouldn’t be a problem. I just cleaned up the K frame of all the barbs and welded all cracks in the K frame, the last one is important and before adding a 440 to any Abody I would remove and sandblast the entire K frame exposing cracks and damage and repair as needed then build to fit the big Block.
There’s another way and that’s to use a front engine plate and mount your engine that way but I still would have the K frame done.
