What is it with some people..

I try, oh lord do I try, to make my sale ads the easiest I can so the transaction goes smooth. I list only one part in a sale and at a time, I try to give a very good description, I include the shipping method and cost if I can, mostly by using flat rate boxes, I add pictures from every angle, try to zoom in on a spot that needs mentioned, I also message when the part is sent and include a picture of the receipt with the transaction details, all in an effort to make it easier on myself and a buyer. Yes, sometimes like mentioned above, something unexpected comes up, like answering to the first PM and not checking the thread for the actual first reply, but I’ll try to make that part of my profile to try to erase that glitch. I don’t mind if somebody asks for other parts, and a lot of the time I’ll chime in on a conversation to let the porter know I have something if they need it. I always say, listing an item is the easy part, the details are in the work it takes to finish the transaction.

My system is much aligned with the features here. I list something, the first PM I get on the item is the first person to have the option to buy it. The only confusing part is when someone posts in the thread but doesn’t PM, I get prompts when I get a PM, I don’t get prompts when someone posts in the thread. It happened just recently with me and @jeff alder, and I felt real bad about it. The problem with posting in the thread is also that the potential buyer doesn’t know if someone PM’d on the item first, before they post in the thread. It would make it much easier if interested parties posted in the thread that they sent a PM, and also sent a PM. I still feel bad, and when it happens I wish I had 10 sets of everything and all replies can get the parts they need. I apologized to Jeff, but I think he’s still mad at me. I hope to reconcile with anybody that this happens to when I list parts.
Im not mad at you SIG. Im too old to be mad...LOL I just now saw this. I think we had a pre nup didnt we? LOL

One thing also to remember its the sellers choice who he wants to sell to. If after the first interested person claims dibs. A 2nd or 3rd person Makes a substantial higher offer? Or someone closer who can pick it up with cash to avoid the shipping or payment hassel? Or a friend of the seller sees the item and the friend gets chosen for the purchase? Could be any reason for not getting the part you want. Maybe someone PM'd him first without giving notice on the thread ?
All good points.
But I've also looked at some descriptions & thought I might not care to deal with that person, so it can work both ways.

I personally have never viewed tits as a Liability, although I've known too large of ones that have caused much back pain and then were reduced.

I found that to large of a Woody can also cause back pain. My wife said reduction is out of the question.

I agree 100% after an agreement is made with a buyer the deal should stick no matter what. That is not always the case. Many times money does the talking before any money changes hands. Happened to me many times at swap meets while the part was in my hand.
You might've talked him down(maybe you didn't) to a low price & as a former seller of Antique Boat Parts at shows, that gets real old. Just pay the price, if not too outrageous, and be glad you found it.
Got tired of Barterers & one time took a hammer to part & told him " you can have it for that price now"!

I've never known how the ratings work or where to find most of this sites instructions, as they're not obviously posted.

There's an entire section of the forum dedicated to it...

And a whole section of that on how to give feedback for transactions...

Wake up in the morning a feel like a bright shiny diamond.....

Wake up in the morning and feel like a big 'ol lump of coal......

Wake up in the morning and feel like a broken lead out of a pencil.......

Thanks 72bluNblu. Not always too good on computer. I still can't always get photos to post either. Especially since photos not in My Files anymore, for some reason! Love the constant google updates!

" no, i didn't. there wasn't any preservation there. " You lost all credibility when you start out with an outright lie like that .
You seem incapable of looking at situations and comprehending what may be a good option . Your type is fading, but you don't realize it yet.
I'll stand by my preservation of my car as well as my opinion on fixing other things.
I am convinced. I am going to fiberglass the slots in my distributor instead of welding. But using window screen.

You're late. Mod already suggested it and it's been done.
Don't know how to 'Copy and Paste'.

My concern is another hijacked thread with JYH always making it worse. Just go do something else!
And this is just after I thanked someone else for helping me understand the site! And now I realize he was maybe helping me & being really being jerky about it at the same time. You can't always tell.
But JYH, do you just come on here to take out your frustrations on others? It seems so sometimes!

Here are a few things that seem weird to me.
if you're making money by using the site, you should share the wealth a bit. Remember the newspaper classified ads? Those weren't free, right? Step up and pay up.
You sound like uncle Sam.. lol
See it this way.. those hard to find parts for sale on here brings more traffic aka potential gold memberships.
What draws people here to this site.. are the members contributing their knowledge and sellers providing parts.

The members make this site...so profit at your own risk

Sure thing. It's all here, and the classifieds section rules are VERY clearly posted at the top of each and every sale forum. People just need to read the rules and follow them. There are good rules established already, nothing is going to be perfect, and the rules we have are all there for a reason.

Oh oh oh! It would be non-conductive as well! You should start a "no weld" distributor thread! :realcrazy: :BangHead::wtf:

Sarcasm, for those that can't tell (I know 340six can!). Some of the stuff on this board lately!

Sorry, but no. Kemper is the one hijacking all of these threads from the jump. He's the one with the 30 day vacation, and rightfully so.

He's lucky I'm not a mod, I'd delete every thread he's posted for the good of the hobby. Most of his "methods" are pure hackery and have no business being passed off as legitimate. Seriously, it lowers the standard of advice that's being given on this site most of the time.

You don't need to spend tens of thousands to do things so that they're not worse than what you started with. You just have to be willing to learn and put in the work. 90% of his comments are pure lies.
