Should i sell 73 swinger. Running and driving. All original/ replaced except motor and transmission.
I want a a suped up hotrod, but don’t want to destroy the original car.

it's your car, do what you want with it. and if you're in love with that body style, then go nuts.

if you're having feelings of guilt about cutting up an all original car, then maybe adios it and move onto something else.
 

It's a 73 Dart Swinger, which is nothing "collectible" so my vote is drop a Blueprint 408 in the engine bay, full TTi exhaust, and backed up by an overdrive transmission and an 8.8 rear axle sourced from a Ford Explorer with 4.10 gears and disc brakes. Then try and wipe the smile off your face every single time you hammer the loud pedal. Of course if you're on any kind of a budget, well that's a different story.

That looks like a nice car.....I'd fix it up like I wanted to and not worry about what anybody says. The stuff you'd want to do is all bolt on anyway, so it could be put back pretty easy if you wanted to go back to a putt putt car. @missing linc gave a dang good recipe to go by!

On a side note....that neighborhood looks a LOT like where I worked to help get the power back on in Tulsa after that big ice storm around 2007 or so. It was right before Christmas.
 
IT IS YOUR CAR. IF YOU LIKE IT, FIX IT UP HOWEVER YOU WANT! IF YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE SOMETHING ELSE (LIKE A 69 BARRACUDA FASTBACK), THEN SELL IT AND BUY WHAT YOU WANT. I LIKE YOUR CAR, BUT IT'S NOT LIKE IT IS A 70 HEMI CUDA. IT BOILS DOWN TO WHETHER YOU LIKE IT ENOUGH TO KEEP IT AND HOTROD IT.

I have about 100 hours and $2500 in the car. I might just do that
 
I'd cut it up and make a drag car out of it, perfect specimen for another big block.
 
I'd hotrod that one. If the body and undercarriage is in great shape, then it is a no brainer. Keep it and make it what you want.
 
Run what ya brung! If you can get to where you want to be with what you have, then save yourself the hassle of selling and then looking for a car to buy, that you'll end up puting $$$$$ into to make it what to want it to be. That way you'll never have to say "I wish I had kept the old Swinger...."

As we all know most of us have sellers or buyers remorse. Kim
 
It’s a nice car, but as mentioned above not anything really special to make it valuable. If you like it, do what you want and enjoy it. Keep any major original parts you remove if it makes you feel better. The car will be worth about the same price modified, as original. You could always do a 360 magnum motor and pull your 318 to go with the car if you decide to sell later on. Relatively easy to get 350’ish horsepower out of a streetable hydraulic roller cam combination. Use your 904 trans with a valve body shiftkit, 2500 stall and 3.55 gears in the 8.25 rear end and the car will probably be all you want.
