She DOES NOT want to slow down lol.
She amazes me in every facet of life. Here is a link to her website. It is extremely well laid out and written very well. Obviously you can tell she is very driven and passionate towards "minimalist" living. She gives a nice background into her upbringing/reasoning for her passion(s).
She is always making me proud through her charity/hospitality and ambition.

That actually looks very nice. At a certain age, how much space do you need. Less time spent cleaning a large space = more time for living life.
I have got to be honest. I am planning to downsize at some time. The older I get, the less I want to take care of everything with a large house (50% of the space goes unused 95% of the time) on a big corner lot. It will probably be hard to find exactly what I want, but I am thinking about it.

Thanks guys, Mom is "big" into the mental well being of people and for a large portion of us, physical clutter also leads to mental clutter.
She has volunteered and donates in many ways including working with a lady that deals with hoarders, some of the pics I've seen are ridiculous. Some need help, some cant be helped, but Mom always gives and aims to help people mentally.

That's awesome! She's doing something she loves!

How old is she?

Personally, I love small spaces. My house is 450 square feet and meets the needs of the wife and I perfectly. Also, whenever the wife wants to go on shopping sprees I remind her of how little space we have to put things, hahaha...

Yes, she has always(for the most part) done what she has loved.
She is a dynamo for sure and puts people half her age(78) to shame.
Thanks for kind words, its a lengthy read for all of her website, but well laid out and written.

That's pretty darn cool, and she reminds me of my mother, who at 92, almost 93 is still very active. She is currently taking guitar lessons, having had piano lessons for the past 7 or 8 years, she is president of the local Artist's club, is active in a writer's group, and still runs her own home.
Be proud of the fact that she's still actively involved in life!

Couldn't hit both agree and thanks Randy or I would've. That's awesome for mom at 93! Heck at 53 that's an achievement. I've wanted her to "retire" for a while now but she is goal driven and I get that. I guess in retrospect I want(ed) her to de-stress and enjoy life. And she does. She's been extremely active in donating her time and expertise in the community(Rotary Club, Habitat for Humanity, Newcomers Club and a variety of Women's groups) and has made a lasting impression in the 5 years they've lived here. Very proud of her achievements and accomplishments.
If i could get her to focus on Mopars!

I can't wait till I'm awake to read this. Trying to declutter now. I have my stuff, my parents and one set of grandparents stuff. By the way, when did your Mom sneak in and take a picture of my junk room?
course, it was alot cleaner in the picture than it is now :)

if only I had stuff stored in that small of a space! I have not put auto parts under the brd...yet, but it sounds like a good idea. there are what was listed as two bedrooms downstairs that are filled with stuff. my wife probably has ten per cent of each room with her stuff. I am not allowed to put any of my stuff in the attached garage on the house-that's HERS! so, my 24 X 28 warehouse in the back is stuffed to the 10'6" ceiling. well, in some spots anyway. at the rate I'm going, by the time I have stuff cleaned out, I'll keel over the next day. I look forward to reading thru and hopefully absorbing what is written on your Mom's website. Thanks for posting it!

Wow, yeah sounds like a LOT! Thanks for the kind words. Good luck filtering thru all the hand me downs. I'll pass the msg along to Mom.

Can attest to downsizing and owning less making life more enjoyable. Your mom is right. It’s not about cramming into a small space but the freedom of less is great.
