Early A body Gas Cap

Is the gas cap for the early A body different than the later A bodies. If so does anyone have one they are willing to let loose? I have a later and it won't fit.

Cool piece Steve - you say in your ad on ebay that the cap can be painted to match. It looks like you have a machined design on the face of the cap, do you make one that is plain or one that is chrome plated ?

66DartGT, That one in the pic is the plain one, the CNC marks are very light and sand or polish right out. I don't have them chromed because here in Ca they want an arm and leg to do it, LOL!!

Let me be the third to say this is a great part, works well and looks good, and a good guy to deal with. Very impressed with the amount of work that must have gone into this cap.

Hey Steve, i haven't got the gas cap yet...
I'm wondering about that, 'cause normally it takes eight to ten days to get the stuff here in Finland...
So , what i do next?
Wait another month?
You got the money already, what's holds you back?

Hey Steve-

I'm just down the way from you in Santa Cruz. Do you plan on making a locking version of your cap? With gas still hovering around $4/gallon, that stuff is liquid gold...

Hey Steve, can't get the cap to fit properly, is there a secret to this i don't know about?
 
It seems that all the necks are not the same because about 10% of the people have had some problems. If yours is too tight try removing the bolts that hold the cross bar, and space it out with either a couple small washers, or some shim mat(sometimes only .030 makes alot of differance). I have had some people with a neck that makes the handle end up 45 degrees off, I have some caps that I did to correct this. If all this fails to work I will always take the cap back and give a full refund. Let me know.

Very cool you are a member here, I've seen your caps on ebay and your handsome avitar pic on FABO, but did not realize that was your product. It looks good, I will consider getting one, just other stuff to spend $ on right now. For those who may wonder about the fit of these caps from the earlier posts here (as I did) checkout Steve's feedback as an ebay seller, all 100%. Nice ebay avitar there too by the way LOL!!
