Front maybe 215 70 14 rear 245 60 14 anyone got the 245 on the rear of there 69 darts how do they look and fit.

Hi Snake. I am wondering about the same thing. Will the 245's fit in the wheel well without scraping ? Do you know what the tread width is on these ? I've been away from Darts for about 25 or so years, and I can't remember what you can get in there without scrapping. Maybe 9 or 9 1/2" I think. By the way I am restoring my first car that I owned when I was in high school and it happens to be a 69 Swinger B5 blue, white stripe,340 4-speed.

I have 245 60 14 with a 14 x 7 with a 4.5 back space.
They fit great

That's one fine little Dart you have there Stevedart. I don't know much about back space on rims. Could you please explain this to me refering to stock 14" rally rims. I guess these wouldn't have any back space ?

Irun the same size on my Sport with no problems...other than I catch them smoking occasionaly.

Well from what i can figure the 60 series is what causes the tight fit.Maybe a 70 series on the back like 225 70 14 rear and 205 for the front.Any thoughts on this choice.

I've got 235/60-14's (BFGs) all around on my '72 Swinger with no rubbing. That's with a 7 1/4 rear and KH disks up front.

that is a sweet dart Swnger69 is it a tight fit any mods to get it under there. Some say to roll the lip. Thanks you car may help me make up my mind.

Thanks! Ya, it's tight, but no mods and no rubbing! When I bought the car it had 70 series and they looked too small.

Nice car! What size rim is that? How wide? Allso how much room do you have from the tire to the spring and from the tire to the inner fender lip.

Man, those cars look great!!!!!! I just love those darts. I'll get another one some day. I used to have a '67 GT. I really liked that car but had to get rid of it to be able to keep one of my '68 barracuda's. If I could do it all over again I would have kept that car.

After seeing this thread I'm getting some 235/60/14 tires from JohnnyDart. I'm convinced.

That 69 GTS looks awesome with those redline steelies...sweetness.

Good questions Burntorange70. I agree swnger69 70sss ya a little weenee on the back.I have had outher 69 Darts in the past and everyone in the past all fit different.Sum to tight from aftermarket Quarter panells ,factory Quarters were a baby finger would just fit between the Quarter and tire.So I am just trying to figure out were i want to go.

I agree. Looking at these beautiful Darts just wants to make me throw up. I have such a long way to go.

Thanks for the compliments. Rims are 14x6. Lip to the tire is about an inch. Tire to spring is about an inch and a half.
With that much clearance you have a 4" offset. I have a 4-1/2 offset and have about 1/4 inch space to the leaf spring. I wonder if you could fit 255s in there?

A 255 sounds like it will fit in a stock spring location stock fender lip Dart. Now I have been wondering. If you roll the fender lip and use the off set spring kit with just the right off set rim. Will a 275 fit in there? HMMM:read2:

I am in the process of doing that right now. I am installing the offset spring kit and getting steel rims made by stockton that are 15 x 8 with a 5" backspace with 275 60 15 ET street radials. I will have to roll the wheel lip. Hope everything works out.

I run 245/60x15 on 15x6.5" rallye's on the back and 245/60x14 on 14x6' on the front with no issues on my 69 dart. I have super stock 002/003 springs in the stock location.

Stevedart it will work out fine. I did the same thing your doing with stockton rally wheels in the back. 27" X 10.5" on 15's fit fine. I've got about an inch on each side and went with a 5.5 back set but think 5 would have been better.

I am not a fan of red cars. But Stevedart, that is one of the nicest I have seen. I run 235 60 14 on my dart, with a b body rearend and stock chrysler steelies. they are close to the fenders but dont rub.
