    NV3500 Swap Pictures?

Thanks, I hadn't thought about searching under a different trans name. Thanks, Alex

1973 Duster - From Strip to Street

So, over 2 years after I get this poor, rusty creature, there is more progress - Found some 16" mustang wheels for now, until I can find some flat black 18" FR500's with the right backspace. Tore apart the front end, pulled the motor and trans, and am working on frame repair. Once the...

    NV3500 Swap Pictures?

The NV3500 is a 5 speed manual transmission from 90's-2000~ Dodge Rams and Dakota's, along with a number of Chevy applications. The ratios are relatively wide, but with a 2.76 rear end, you have, essentially, the first gear in an 833 with 3.65(no such thing, but that's the equivalent.) gears...

    NV3500 Swap Pictures?

Well, I know it's been done a few times, but I can only find pictures of a couple - one here, and one over on moparts. Does anyone have any other pictures of how you did your crossmember and interior? I'll post up my install pics once I finally get started, I'm doing frame work and some other...

    Show me your pro-touring Duster

Well, since we're digging up this old thread, here's mine - Not sure that it qualifies just yet... SS springs with blocks and flipped hangers, and I'm waiting on Just Suspension 1" torsion bars. Hellwig front and rear sway bars are in, now I'm looking for FR500 18" wheels in flat black...

[SOLD] Edelbrock LD4B with Virgin Ports and Plenum (and some other junk too)

Edelbrock LD4B intake here. The good - As far as I can tell, the ports and plenum are uncut, and the crossover hasn't been messed with. The bad - Two of the carb mounting holes are stripped (have been since I got the running engine it was on), and should probably be helicoiled. Looking...

    value question

Just like a lot of our cars here, you'd be lucky to get what you put into out of it. In my case, that's impossible! You'd probably get offered 1500-2000 around here, being a /6 auto, with quarter panel rust starting. Doesn't bubbling paint usually mean it's rusted through from the backside...

1973 Duster - From Strip to Street

Definitely should have titled this "From Stripped to Street" Finally got the 360 built and swapped in - Pictures now, story later...

    wont stay running...again

It sounds like What my old 318 would do, back when I first got that motor running - Turned out to be caused by both a vacuum leak, and severely retarded timing, but you already checked timing.

    '70s Murray Wildcat bike project?

On pedals, the left side thread is (normally) reverse threaded. For the crank, the right side is (again, normally, except for a few old French and Italian designs) reverse threaded. I'd check over the frame for any weak spots in the frame walls if you plan on riding it, as broken frames totally...

    Unfired Rebuild Compression?

Gotcha - I'm just kinda learning as I go, best way to learn is by doing and all. Thanks for the info, and I won't go messing with things. Until they break, that is. Then it's fair game...

    Unfired Rebuild Compression?

The bottom end is supposed to have a couple hours of run time on it already, What I've been worried about is whether he actually replaced them like he claims to have. But, when I do start it, I have no room to complain about bad rings, because I (kind of) trust the guy I got it from, so I...

    Unfired Rebuild Compression?

Psh, I'm just so amazing that I can pull cord start a 14:1 compression V-12! :tard: Yeah, I know, I'm a little bit retarded today... It's been a long day, and I've been a little worried about the rings on this supposedly freshly rebuilt 360 block since I got it.. But hey, I AM insane, paranoid...

    Unfired Rebuild Compression?

Had it sitting on the stand, and was curious - pulled out my compression gauge and a wrench and took a peek. Never heard of it being done, never done it before, figured hey, why not?

    Unfired Rebuild Compression?

No overbore, stock pistons, heads milled enough to run well on a 318. Got about 40 psi on 1&2, and 45 on the rest. Just wondering if it's the unfired head gaskets...
