I went to the hardware store to see if I could match the color of my manifold. I asked if they had “infected dog but” but they just ran out and said just wait.
No the holes were good. I used JB Weld and tapped them in. I test fitted each plug as there was some variability, so some plugs fit better than others.
So I am still waiting on my thermostat water housing. I assume that not having a thermostat relief for the thermostat to sit in the manifold is normal? The relief must be in the mating housing?
Great call and feedback. Looks like you’ve been down this dusty road a few times before! Looks like I can use a little “off the too”. Wish I had hair….
So I think I have a winner! I was rummaging around the shop and found this. It’s definitely vintage lol but I am gonna try it! I just test fitted my manifold as I just got it back from the machine shop. Its perfect. We took off the thickness of the gasket ~ 0.065. Oh and it doesn’t really say...
So would a 1970 340 be the right application for this size? Again I have the dimensions but everything is based off application.
Also I noticed that the opening in the manifold does not have any lip. It’s all flat. Is that how the stick manifolds are as well?
Yes I think you’re right. Because when I put my old thermostat housing on the M1, it was too big and I needed to get one for a magnum, so does this mean that the larger one is standard for LA intake size?
