Long ago I used self adhesive foam insulation tape, 1/2" should work. It breaks down eventually and lets the vent jiggle around. They have it at Home Depot, O'Reilly's etc.
Last time I used caulk cord. Worked great. It's like a non-hardening clay rope for sealing windows.
That's not inside mine. Maybe a JC Whitney anti fuel stealing device like you said.
These cars are already tough to fill up without that thing in the way.
I had a blower kit on order from Hamptons for 5 months after putting $1000 down.
Every call was another excuse, another promise and delay. The people saying get your money back are right on.
From what I've been reading online it looks like the oil squirters were abandoned at some point. The bearings I just pulled were clevite 77 tri metals and they lacked the hole as well. Maybe oil pressure is better without the squirters, I have no idea.
They JB welded the exhaust manifold? Lol
29 years ago I built my 273 using only a Chilton's manual.
Fast forward to today and I see that 3 of my rods are in backwards, chamfer not against crank.
Side clearances are all .010. Rod bearings don't have the oil notch.
Engine has been to 6750 rpm like this, no unusual cam wear etc...
I was trying to visualize something like that, thank you! Might also just play with some trig if I get bored.
Sweeet. Mucho appreciated. Why did that guy have to mess with my head lol
Thanks again guys!!!
Alright, just got the ID done,
At this shallower position, I got .006" max
This deeper one I got .002" max, more like .0015"
Both I'm estimating are 30 degrees from perpendicular so the actual runouts are higher than what I saw.
If I go deeper the gauge will be at 45 degrees and will...
