This guy is older and definitely agree with your assessment. He plays the poor me card and I used to believe it but not anymore.
Good on you for returning the favor!
Neighbor used to ask to borrow my truck. Not a beater mind you, my daily driver.
Nah, so I'd drive him instead to get acetylene.
Last time he wanted to get lunch too and I declined. So he bought a truck and doesn't talk to me anymore. Guy was a real charity case
I'd slot that washer so it can sit offset, or not use it at all.
Similar problem to yours, had to relieve area above this intake bolt to just barely fish it in.
6-71 manifold.
Carbide burrs and an air die grinder will get you there quickly. Omitted washer and everything is fine.
One of these ignitions that takes the current duties off the distributor points is a nice feature. Points will last forever and no worries of condenser failure and may eliminate ballast resistor too. So run any dizzy you want, I like that.
Of course the entire ignition box is your new failure...
My Moog problem makers are .014" larger diameter than the ones that came out of the arm. That's too much press fit for me so I belt sanded them down before deciding on o.e. style and those ones were oversized too.
