It sounds like he might have stated his problem in post #3... Swapped pressue and return line on steering box to clear the headers?

When we were kids we would put a bypass hose on the steering box. Just a loop of hose from input to output fittings on the pump. That way the fluid could still circulate and not hydro lock the box. Not proper but it worked fine when we didn't have $$ for new pump!!!

I have had mine for 45k (107k on car now). Runs great. Other than my wife running into things only problem I have had is front rotors. Just put new ones on at 100k. Gets 18-20 around town and 24-26 on road trips.
