If I'm understanding correctly, I only need to go as far as the intake valve starting to open at TDC instead of 34 BTDC to know that something is not right. All the other readings simply confirm it.

I was able to follow the article. Thank you. My set up presents everything bass ackwards. If I convert, the intake has just closed at tdc, it started to open at 10 BBDC, and therefore has a duration of 190, all in very rough terms. Which is still totally wacky. Now with a better...

So the valve that my dial indicator is pointing to is the exhaust valve right?

Thanks, I believe after I messed with it for a while, it ended up in the middle of the roller at about a 90 degree angle. I have to pull the intake to get to the lifters wouldn't I? I've done the piston stop probably 5 times now so I'm pretty confident that the balancer is correct.
