    engine noise

I put adjustable rockers on it but the noise is still there. I've put over 7,000 miles on the engine and it is still running fine. I've just learned to live with the noise.

Hey, it's Kris with the Yellow 73 Dart. It was nice meeting you and I'm glad to hear that you made it home ok. That was one heck of a trip. I really liked your car and the 17's look sweet on it. I'm already thinking about next year.

    pushrod length?

I didn't see your post. It's a Magnum with Engine Quest Heads and a Howards cam

    pushrod length?

It's a hydraulic roller with stock magnum rockers. I have some valve train noise after a cam swap. I bought an adjustable push-rod tool so I could measure and see if my noise was being caused by to short of pushrod. I've never measured pushrod length before and I'm trying to get this...

    pushrod length?

I'm trying to determine if I have the correct length pushrod. The intake is closed and the exhaust is just starting to open. The pushrod just barely spins. There is no up and down movement. Does this sound like it's the correct length?

    engine noise

I need to find a mechanic who can figure it out and fix it. Unfortunately the few mechanics I've spoken with their eye's glaze over when I start talking about measuring for the correct length push rod. I have no clue what I'm doing and when I have to start telling a mechanic why and how to...

    engine noise

Thanks again for the replies. I had the intake off on Sunday. I was hoping to find something easy and obvious. The spider and all the dog bones were there. All the lifter oiling holes were facing towards the cam shaft. I didn't see anything obvious. I put it back together and it doesn't...

    rocker install

I'm chasing down an engine tick and I want to see if oiling holes in my roller lifters were installed the wrong direction. They're pedestal mount stamped 1.6 rockers. What are the steps for re-installing the rockers?

    engine noise

Again thanks for the replies, I've been using a stethoscope, long extension, wooden dowel and a piece of hose to help locate the noise. They all make the noise sound a little different but I can't pin point exactly where it's coming from. I'm pretty sure they are the correct ones. I'll...

    engine noise

Thanks for the replies The sound increases with engine rpm I'm not sure if I've ruled out rocker gear, but I can't feel or hear anything obvious but again I am no mechanic. How do I check the flex-plate? I've looked for cracks and made sure the bolts are tight. I actually put...

Anyone Doing the HotRod power tour this year?

My dad and I plan on doing the long haul from Sacramento. It will be over 5,800 miles. I just need to get everything ship shape.

could this fluctuation with my oil pressure coincide with a lifter issue? Or is the fluctuation normal? https://youtu.be/ycUEc3ov2_o

    engine noise

I pulled up the dip stick so I know that the crank isn't hitting it and I don't have a windage tray I don't think I have an exhaust leak at the flange or at the collector but I'm wondering if there's a pin hole in one of the tubes. Here's another videohttps://youtu.be/5vChVhCQOjg

    engine noise

Thanks for the replies, the inspection plate is off and the noise is still there. If I do pull the intake I will check for the correct orientation of the oiling holes in the lifters. I've spent a week reading posts and watching YouTube videos to try and convince myself that valve...
