    1969 Dodge Dart: Re-Build/Store Thread

Took the wheels off and sent them to powdercoat, Checking the timing it was about 6 degrees initial and 27 all in. Pretty retarded for the previous NOS set-up which would explain my overheating issues Set it so 17 initial and 36 all in, starts and revs way easier now. had a leaky valve cover...

    1969 Dodge Dart: Re-Build/Store Thread

Had just a little spare time to get some minor things done Replaced the return regulator with a dead-head regulator so i could eliminate the return line running close to the exhaust (Magnaflow 500 pump has a bypass at the pump) Replaced all the plugs, the burn looked good, it was burnt pretty...

    1969 Dodge Dart: Re-Build/Store Thread

Completely agree, the convertor and cam are an unknown to me and probably will remain unknown until/if i decide to tear it down and stroke it and change it over the pump gas. I suspect the timing is well out and hurting me a good bit. Its good to know the "As-is" for a baseline but as ive seen...

    1969 Dodge Dart: Re-Build/Store Thread

Ended up going to Mopar Mania at Sac Raceway this past weekend, only thing i got done was the fuel system upgrade/clean-up. So basically ran it as is. Best run was 11.1 @121 60' was 1.54 Overall was a fun weekend, some things i noticed that are going to shift priorities around: 1. It gets...

    1969 Dodge Dart: Re-Build/Store Thread

Did some launch testing on my road. Trans brake leaves hard, weight shifts well and the car goes straight so all good things. The line lock seems to have some sort of delay going on, doesn't release when the momentary is released. Think it has to do with the wiring gremlins. Mopar Mania is...

Some 451s are yes, that is the wildly more popular combo. This engine has a 4.375 bore. Which is also 451 cubes on a stock stroke 440 crank

    1969 Dodge Dart: Re-Build/Store Thread

Picked up sweet little race car a couple weeks ago. Was fortunate enough to get in touch with the original owner back east and got some invaluable information on the car and am planning on doing some "New Gen" upgrades while keeping the same vibe the car carries What i do know: 451 engine (440...

The Ugly Duckling, 74 Duster Build

I appreciate the offer but i think a dana 60 will be best for my needs, my right foot has ripped apart a few trucks/cars in its time so overbuilt is the only option i have. Tinkering with the car still, made up some aluminum door panels at my shop and tossed those on Indy sells a 360 with a...

The Ugly Duckling, 74 Duster Build

Big block mopars just run in my blood, its hard to not want to toss that into the car, plus like i said i can swap in the running 440 and get the tranny/headers and other mounting situated and bulld the core up and then do a transplant down the road. I have a pretty extensice offroad...

The Ugly Duckling, 74 Duster Build

Interesting you bring that up, i was originally considering an 8.8 rear and have ones local in the gear ratios i wanted with disc brakes, and narrowing it to both short side axles gets me pretty close to the wms i need. Is and 8.8 gonna hold up to 600-700hp?
