Had a issue like that on a 72 dart, found out later the gaskets around the taillights were leaking letting water mess with the system.fixed gaskets no more problem .just saying

cudamark, can i just unplug the engine wiring harness at the bulkhead on the points car and plug the wiring harness that came with the motor{which is electronic}in that same bulkhead .All the stuff you mentioned is still wired to the motor, it was unplugged from its bulkhead of the car it come...

thanks again nocar 340 that will let me know if the right size weight was welded on but i dont know if they are welded in the right spots im thinking one might be off a little. when i can ill jack it up and take a picture of the weights on the converter and maybe a member thats done this will...

Been awhile since i been in had to beat up some lung cancer problems but good to go now. Cars been setting in barn for a couple years, more than that now Anyway going to get out and back on the road again. thanks to this site its going to be easer
