fstfish66, thanks. I misunderstood your first post. I will have to give it a shot.

It is a new set up, it has the stock mechanical fuel. The car doesn't have a heat riser. I really don't think it is dirt in the fuel. The fuel is literally boiling in the bowl.

I have not because I got the axle from a 74 D200 and it did not come with the 1 3/4 backing plates.

I have a 71 Dart that I have put an 8 3/4 rear out of an 74 D200 in. I got a set of axles from moser with 5 on 4 bolt pattern. The problem I am running into now is that the truck had 10 by 2 1/2 in brakes and the drum for that are 5 on 4 1/2, and the brakes for the dart are of course 10 by 1...
