318 Idle Problem

I have rather complicated idle problem. I have a 318 with a mild cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock Thunder Series AVS® 650 cfm. It idles fine when it is cold, once it warms up it won't idle. When you go to restart it, it has dumped a bunch of gas down the intake. It only occurs once the engine is warmed up. I have rerouted to fuel line and it is well clear of the exhaust. The fuel is not boiling in the line when you disconnect it. I did open the carb up to see if the float were not properly adjusted and they are set at the recommend level. I noticed that the fuel was literally boiling back out of the jets. Then engine coolant is at normal operating temperature the whole time. I have no idea what is causing this or how to fix it. Any ideas?

Heat riser stuck on? E10 (ethanol) fuel is bad for that. A wood spacer between carb/intake (baltic birch plywood) for a carb base gasket with 2 thin gaskets on either side of it is the best heat blocker

is this a new set up ???? or some thing that has just started hapening??? what type of fuel pump do you have ?? stock mechanical or electric ?? with out seeing it,,hard to figure out,,sounds like you either have to much fuel pressure or dirt in the carb,,,have you messed around with the metering rods ?? get an edelbrock carb book or google edelbrock problems,,,, todays gas has to much junk it in,,if you have a metal tank,,,and dotn dry the car regulary,,,the water in the gas falls to the bottom of the tank,,,,making rust,, it wil end up in the bottom of your eddy carb,,,,ask me how i know ???? just went thur mine,, was having issues almost liek yours,,,, took the carb apart,, clened it good with carb cleaner,, tooth brush,,, blew it out,, the removed the jets, tooth brushed them,,, blew carb cleaner in to all the ports and in the idel mixture screw holes til it came out,, put itr back together alll is well,,,,now looking for a poly fuel tank,,,

It is a new set up, it has the stock mechanical fuel. The car doesn't have a heat riser. I really don't think it is dirt in the fuel. The fuel is literally boiling in the bowl.

todays gas has a lot of water in it,,, it will boil,,,causing problems,,,i just read and artice on this in street rodder magazine,,,thats what lead me to taking the carb apart,, and they were dead on with what i found in the carb,,, google gas boiling in carb,,you getting a lot of heat some place,,,as said get a fiber or wood type thick 3/8 or 1/2 inch carb to intake base gasket for starters,,,,pep boys carries edelbrock fiber thick gaskets with a bushing in the hole so you dont crush it also comes with mounting studs,,,20 bucks i run one on my street rod,,,
