Outer seat mounts are attached to the subframe connector

I'm leaving mine how i have it. The T handle does lock out the reverse gate, the spring just pushes/assists the linkage back out of the reverse gate. I think it will feel odd spring loaded into the 1/2 gate as all the other vehicles i have are spring loaded into the 3/4 gate.

I must have one of the rare intact ones. This one only pushes the linkage out of the reverse gate though, is this correct? Spring is about 3/4 inch long uncompressed. I modified the linkage with a machined high tensile bolt to remove some free-play as the pin was worn, this also has a friction...

Iv'e seen that before on my S800. separate ball and pin is to lessen the drag of the joint for lighter steering.. probably find the cheaper joints are one piece

Main thing is have you decided how you are going to dial in more caster?

i'm not one for rake either, i mentioned it as i see so many cars with a huge nose down stance that i wonder how they get on with the vastly reduced caster? this is the sort of look i like which is the rear wheels tucked under the standard arches.

going back to caster change, when i measured bump steer on my '66 to see what the suspension does as it moves i found it changed Caster by 9 degrees from full droop to full bump and about 4 degrees over about 2 inches of suspension movement around ride height. (this was on old rubber bushes)...

projecting much. who said i know more, i just don't agree with your thought on moving the top arm mounts the way you describe and not causing issues which would be the same as using wild offset bushings. it's a compromise that'll work with soft rubber but whether it'll be OK for long term use...
