Oops, somehow (probably me) the pic of the hood scoop center section was left off. Here it is, also added to earlier post. As you can see in this close up, the after market scoop openings are not symmetric. I will make them match as part of the final finishing. It will look GREAT!! I hope...
The QC gal was in the shop today, something about the cleanliness of the shop. Hey, I'm working out here so it gets a little dirty! She did help move the cars around and slide the Dart to the lift. Should be on her new shoes in a couple of days. Maybe!
Hood scoop time. Need to shave off/taper around 3/4" of material to form fit this hood.
Much better fit now
Still need to do some finish work on the scoop as it is a little rough, not bad, but I want it better. Not sure of the paint sheen yet. It will be black but unsure if Matte...
No change using hot water. I called ECS to see if they had any ideas, and they did. They just threw a new one in my earlier order, no charge. True, I still had to pay for a replacement but now I will have a second one to use on the next project. I am good with that!
TOP of the morning to ya!
Heat turned way up so vinyl could relax
Car masked off, top in place, roof scuffed, and ready for glue.

Marking and cutting this curve was a PITA
I like it!!!

Hmmm, looking at the pics now, the new glovebox door may need a little touch up to the silver/chrome. Never ends!!!!

Slight problem! Too much damage, might not be able to save the bezels. I can try but it doesn't look good. New ones are stupid expensive, so I guess I will try pretty hard. Stay tuned........
Headliner is in! The strong back light makes it look wrinkled towards the back but it is plenty smooth. However, there is a very slight downward bow just ahead of the point where the liner attaches to the rear glass frame. I will live with that since the only time you can see it is from this...
Yup, that is what I used on the headliner and will be using on the vinyl top. A cheap $39 HF works great, just float the adhesive down to the surface.

On to the instrument panel. This is not hard to disassemble but you have to "break" the melted plastic connections that hold it all together. When going back together you can use a large dull awl "heated up" to re-melt the plastic back into a holding position. Don't forget to watch out for...
