1974 Dodge Dart Sport rebuild

-
I am trying to figure out the "correct" location for the voltage regulator. I have seen it mounted next to the brake booster, and I have seen it mounted on the passenger inner fender. Which is correct? IDK When I got the car it was located on the inner fender, but this is a transplant engine so I don't know if it is correct and it looks a little odd. The existing wiring harness has it going near the alternator, but I am not sure where this harness came from. Question of the day, "Where is yours?"

AS IT WAS WHEN I GOT IT

HARD TO SEE BUT THESE ARE BOTH UNDER THE BOOSTER ON THE WASHER BOTTLE SIDE

Passenger side Inner Fender- like the picture in white is correct

Dash rebuild is DONE. Have to touch up a couple of spots but I will do that after the car is done, just in case I scratch/damage something.

Hmmm, looking at the pics now, the new glovebox door may need a little touch up to the silver/chrome. Never ends!!!!

Well done, @Builderguy! It looks professionally done.

Some days you're the windshield and some days you're the bug! Just about $40 wasted for about a second too long on the warmup! @$*&%@#

No change using hot water. I called ECS to see if they had any ideas, and they did. They just threw a new one in my earlier order, no charge. True, I still had to pay for a replacement but now I will have a second one to use on the next project. I am good with that!

Center caps all shined up, could use the buffer, but I think they will be fine.

Looks great. Next time you paint them (I know itza long way off), use Textured Dark Argent from 8774paint1.
You will not believe the difference. It has that "just right" amount of sparkle.
It is the closest thing to the factory Dark Argent Gray. It is an ultra high quality paint that blends easily coat after coat.

Hood scoop time. Need to shave off/taper around 3/4" of material to form fit this hood.

Still need to do some finish work on the scoop as it is a little rough, not bad, but I want it better. Not sure of the paint sheen yet. It will be black but unsure if Matte, Satin, Semi-gloss, or high gloss. Need to do some digging to see what Ma Mopar used. From pics of "survivor" cars they look Matte/flat but I will continue the investigation.

The QC gal was in the shop today, something about the cleanliness of the shop. Hey, I'm working out here so it gets a little dirty! She did help move the cars around and slide the Dart to the lift. Should be on her new shoes in a couple of days. Maybe!

They made different kinds yours looks like Duster hood so yours needs fitted for The Dart Sport. Looks good

Oops, somehow (probably me) the pic of the hood scoop center section was left off. Here it is, also added to earlier post. As you can see in this close up, the after market scoop openings are not symmetric. I will make them match as part of the final finishing. It will look GREAT!! I hope, stay tuned.

I would hold out for an OEM Scoop. You're never gonna be happy with it. These repro scoops are the WORST. I see several of the OEMs for sale on here.
When you compare the two, side by side, you see just how bad the repro scoops are.
