    Aluminum slant block

He poured aluminum into the water jacket to make the deck solid in the "Twiggy build thread". He also did a similar, single piece around the tops of each cylinder in another build but it wasn't very effective. Thats when the discussion later on started by me mentioning doing the "Honda" cylinder...

Yeah, they mentioned the Fel-Pro being discontinued in the article and that they got the last 2 Olson gaskets that were available.....

    Aluminum slant block

I looked back at the article and it says they used Olson gaskets. They are the copper skin style....

    Aluminum slant block

That is what I suggested to the .org guys about 10 years ago. Obviously that guy lurks on some of the Slant forums ..... Also, on this block and the Chevy LS and others of this design, a torque plate will have no affect on them.

    Aluminum slant block

The article I participated in with Steve Magnate in Mopar Muscle and Hot Rod had a head gasket failure as the engine approached 200 HP. That's probably not too shabby, but if that's to be an expected issue at that HP range, how long can it live at say, 180 HP, if it's that close to a failure...

I also made a 3D model of a sleeve that had an interlocking deck that you could send to Darton and have made as a Plan B. But can you actually picture a Slant 6 person throwing down $150+ per sleeve and then paying to have them installed....?LOL Anyway, that just makes the block strong enough to...

I'd have search for it myself, but its been so long ago. PM me and I can tell you all about it....

No, this is actually a better, different approach. The blocks already have sleeves in them...The method I presented has been around for over 30 years and has allowed the sport compact guys to achieve over 1000 HP out of their early open deck Honda 4 cylinder blocks....

    Aluminum slant block

I developed a solution for the guys over on .org about 10 years ago, but they still choose to keep repeating the same process expecting a different result. I also contributed and participated in a magazine build(Muscle Mopar and Hot Rod magazines)with Steve Magnate featuring an aluminum Slant 6...

Oh, I was under the impression both heads were connected somehow to the same designer and manufacturer.....

    Mystery Argentinean Head Pics!!

The link that takes you back to .org says circa 1969 for the magazine picture it was in, so who knows how much older the heads actually were prior to that, but over 50 years old at this time.

    Mystery Argentinean Head Pics!!

Being it was a prototype casting over 50 years ago, it probably was limited to just a few castings. The fact that its unrecognized by your friend likely means it didn't produce favorable results and other prototypes of other heads took the spotlight.....

    Cometic Gaskets

I've used SCE and Clark to make the large port Slant intake/exhaust gaskets for me in the past, and Clark also has the files to do copper head gaskets for the Slant as well, any bore and thickness.....
