Well I couldn't even look at it tonight. But thatnks for the info Norshor on what each of those Pins are at the connector in the upper right. I am hoping to get back at it tomorrow evening (my wife is on afternoons so I am stuck being a semi-involved parent instead of a horrible mechanic!)...

Well I did try to pull the panel without luck and was afraid I would bust one of the pins or something. I do have a clymer manual but unfortunately when the PO hacked the old wiring none of it makes sense anymore....

Ok, as for the mystery wire that is providing 12v it is a blue/white wire and seems to come from one of the connectors under the steering column (there are 2 separate sets of connectors under that column each with about 8 wires I believe connected at a plastic strip connector). It appears to be...

Well the dash does light up when I put the lights on so that's the one thing that actually works!! LOL...god I hate wiring especially when the PO butchered the harness and now NONE of the colours match up with a normal wiring diagram!

sorry guys, yes it is a 70 Dart. And I assumed they were red and just faded a bit but pink is probably closer to it... It may not matter as it looks like I will have some major wiring in my future (did I mention I HATE electrical work???) All kinds of funky things found once I started...

I thought about pulling the cluster but didn't have any luck getting it out....I pulled the speedo cable and one quick connect but it still wouldn't come free. What all do I have to disconnect to get it out? Oh and I assume it's just an oil light not a guage...

OK, so after getting the Dart running a little smoother I figured I should slowly start to pick away at the incredible rat's nest that the PO has created with the dash wiring harness. Currently the only guage that appears to work is the voltmeter. The gas guage and the temp guage are dead as...

Sorry guys, I thought I mentioned what the fix was!! It was the lead from the ECU to the - side of the coil. The PO had just wrapped it around the post under the ring terminal of the wire to the Tach. So when I looked at the - side all I saw was the one wire (no evidence of a broken wire or...

Just to more or less close the loop on this one...thanks again guys for the help!! I got it roughly timed by ear and wow what difference! Much smoother than before although I do have to adjust the idle as it is revving way to high now (close to 1400 rpm's at idle). So once I can get my hands on...
