    Sealing gauge lens after polishing?

Isn't the sealant for UV protection so the headlights don't yellow? I suppose you could use it but the gauge lenses aren't exposed to the same elements as headlights so you could leave it too. If possible try on a small area that isn't visible if you are concerned that it will react with the...

    Which leaf spring?

Hi Im about to change the leaf springs on my 67 Dart. Its a slant six car and my vendor has two options for the springs. One with 2 inch front eyelet and one with 1.5 inch eyelet. I tried to measure it with the spring in place but its impossible to determine the size when its in the hanger. I...

Dodge Dart 68 windshield rubber, HELP!

No it is not, you have a 2dr hardtop. The 2dr sedan has a post in the middle between the roof and the door like a 4dr car. The ht models have a lower windshield than the 2dr/4dr sedan.

    Blowing voltage regulators

Yes of course, I know this. I'm sorry, I was tired and not thinking straight. Going to make a temporary field wire to see if it changes anything and measure the voltage drop on all connections to the VR next.

    Blowing voltage regulators

@67Dart273 This is actually the Standard motor products VR101 that is of the traditional mechanical type, it could be adjusted but I don't either think its the problem as I have blown 3 already. I did the first test of the field current draw test where it says to measure voltage drop between...

    Blowing voltage regulators

I am running a dual field alternator, the VR is a mechanical original style one I just never even thought about installing the electrical one as this should work as good. I really don't care for if it looks original or not, this car won't be an concours restoration anyways, I just want it to run...

    Blowing voltage regulators

A bit of an update here, going to be a bit longer so bare with me. So I installed the new VR and the car charges again. I noticed on the ammeter that when pressing on the accelerator when the engine is idling the ammeter pegs all the way to the charging side for about 0.5s then returns to...

    Blowing voltage regulators

Aah ok, the points had welded themselves together. And then naturally the fuse wire. The fuse wire runs on the inside between one side of the points to the resistor, correct? And there's one on both sides of the breaker points?

    Blowing voltage regulators

Only the regulator, first time alternator of natural causes. This is the points type regulator What harness did you use? Is there any premade kit that is plug and play or did you use an universal kit? Going to go tinker with it as I got the new regulator, read somewhere about adding an...

    Blowing voltage regulators

I'm having trouble with my electro mechanical voltage regulator. In the past 4 years I have bought 3 and today I blew another one. I don't seem to get them to last more than a couple of thousand miles at the most. I had to change the alternator about at the same time the first one blew but...

    Noises in the tower

Yes, everything else seemed normal the engine ran like a usual. Just additional noice at first start of the morning. Checked the bolts, all there and tight. Couldn't really inspect the flexplate so good as I went in from the starter hole. The dipstick is actually junk on mine, the tube is...

    Noises in the tower

That was my first thought too but it wasn't a knocking sound, wouldn't it keep making noice all the time if the oil pressure was low? I only have the dummy light and it goes out almost immediately when the engine starts, oli level was good a little while ago, just short of full but will recheck...

    Noises in the tower

So this morning I was heading to work with my Dart that has a slant six. As I started up I heard a clanging sound from the engine that went away pretty fast. But I noticed if I gently reved the engine it would start to go clangclangclang briefly on a specific rpm. I checked under the hood but...

7.25 diff with a removed yoke

So my 67 Dart is in need of a new rear end after my pinion bearing got busted and I'm considering to buy an used rear axel instead going trough the hassle to refurb the old one. I talked to a salvage yard/parts shop, and they have an 7.25 but someone needed the yoke from it. Now the question...
