    /6 sputters under load

Thanks guys, I went ahead and put the valve cover back on. The seals will have to wait a little longer. Test drove and still has the sputter under load. Wires are about a year old. Maybe check the convertor next..... Thanks again for all the help and suggestions

    /6 sputters under load

Well I got the valves adjusted, very easy with Slant six Dan's instructions (thanks Dan!) I have not taken it on a test drive yet because I found chunks of valve stem seals all over the head.....It is not smoking at all, it does use some oil but nothing crazy. My question is how hard are...

    /6 sputters under load

Finally got back to work on it. Wanted to adjust the valves but stuff came up. Was checking timing.....it started acting weird it was all over the place, 10* 12* at idle, at about 2K rpm it was about 30*. Daughter reved it really high and when I went to check it again at idle it was reading...

    /6 sputters under load

It does, anyway to tell if it's bad? I figured the valves needed adjusted anyway and a gasket is not too expensive.......

    /6 sputters under load

Thanks Kazoom, I replaced the airfilter and coil. The problem is more of a miss/sputter under load. The coil seemed to help a bit I feel more power (surges almost) but still getting the sputter. I'm going to replace that fuel line next. I have to borrow a timing light to check total timing...

    /6 sputters under load

Fuel filter was replaced about a month ago, not sure about pressure. Carb was rebuilt about 6 months ago and float set then. I had issues with it running rich at idle ie; black soot on the drive way. I turned the mixture screw all the way in, which was only about a 1/4 turn, it helped some...
