Here are some shots, I circled an area in Blue where you can see the two dimples at the front, and where the bracket is related to them, also, you can see the hole where the shifter rod has to go down through.... Hope this helps.

I'll post what I have... There are some dimples in the floor that certain things line up to. I have some "after" shifter installed shots as well that can help. My console stands were still in the original floor piece when I Bought it, so that helped me. I also have an extra entire shifter set up...

Hey BluNBlu, You seem fairly knowledgeable about this conversion, Can I ask a question? I ve purchased the Conversion Collars for my 71. I'm going from Column shift to floor shift automatic. So, the new collar has the Thumb lever, My old collar used the shift lever to tell the switch it was in...

My only other question is: With a factory floor shift car, Can you take the key out just by pushing the lever at the switch even if the car isn't in park on the floor?

Actually Junkyardhero, Thanks for that link. I was able to get a 71 Plymouth Manual, and a 73 Dodge one that shows me what I need I believe.

Thank you, I'm seeing how it works now. Was able to get the 71 Plymouth Manual, and the 73 dodge manual from the My Mopars site and I see the columns are basically the same after 70....It just has a very brief description of how the floor shift columns differ from the columns shift cars.

Hey Guys, I'm looking the steering column diagram for a 1971 Dart. I'm converting My column shift to a floor shift, with the new collars from Classic industries. I'm trying to figure out how/if the switch will lock wheel, or how the column knows when the floor shift is in Park, to pull key out...

Still working on the inside, Got New seat covers from Year one, and got them put on, Finished shifter and console. Got everything trial fitted. Been driving the car some. Went to a fundraiser Cruise for a fallen Greesnboro police officer's family..Sgt. Dale Dix.... ( we are a Police family ). 18...

Moved to the Inside now.... Adding a floor shift, and Console..Got brackets from a donor car welded in and trial fitted..... refinishing dash parts, Seats are at upholsterers getting Fresh Year One covers, Carpet is layed out to flatten...

More progress on the Dart today !! New Holley 750 carb, more emblems and factory decals, got the trim Rings on, Hood Moulding on , Laid The trunk mat out to flatten out…. Then took her out for a spin !! She runs great !!
