Huzzah! Thanks to the info provided here, I was able to get this kickdown linkage restored. I even believe I have it adjusted properly. She kicks down into 2nd if I get on it and stays there until I let off so I think I'm good to go. Still don't know why the PO removed it...but more amazing...

In the immortal words of the late Gilda Radner... "Never mind". I realized that one needs to gently bend the little tab that closes the valve. A Holley this is not. She's no longer running rich and I can go back to the hundreds of other problems. :) Tom
