Low Beams dead, Hi Beam Fine?

Hey thanks for all the excellent troubleshooting ideas. This is a car that I picked up to try to interest my son in a father son project. He has now left and joined the US Marines so I am on my own trying to futz around with the Dart. I was hoping that it was not the bulkhead, because that...

Low Beams dead, Hi Beam Fine?

Guess what, I got the same problem again. High beams good, low beams dead. I removed the floor switch, tested it and it has continuity. Can the switch be bad yet still show continuity? I do not have lo beam power at the lo beam relay (there are 2 relays, one for hi one for low.) So it has to...

Intermittent running issue on the Dart

Ok it is a sticking choke flap. Is there something that can lube it? Or do I just shoot carb cleaner all over the place.?

Intermittent running issue on the Dart

the 66 dart has been sitting for a few months. The slant starts up relative easy. Got some new gas. I decided to take it out once a week. Last week driving and the engine felt like it was bogging down and would not let me accelerate past about 35mph. I pulled over, shut it down, restarted...

Low Beams dead, Hi Beam Fine?

Awesome guys. Yes, one of the first things I did when I got this Dart was to install relays on the headlights, I was told (by this forum) that this would give brighter lights. So I did yank the carpet back, removed the switch, hooked it up to my old multimeter and tested continuity on the...

Low Beams dead, Hi Beam Fine?

Yes I just tried a few things.... Replaced the light - same issue. Then swapped the relays, ... same issue. So relays are good, lights are good. Next will be that switch on the floor. Maybe just came loose or corroded. I did have that issue when I first got the car... that floor switch had...

Low Beams dead, Hi Beam Fine?

Driving the 66 Dart again, after putting about 10 miles on it all of last year. Go to turn on the headlights and nothing, but I hit the hi beam switch and high beams light up fine. So can anyone remind me, is there a separate fuse for the low beams? Also note, I do have the headlights...

    Early A Body fuel Spillage

Sounds like a great fix. What I do is just turn the nozzle sideways and put it in. Then listen carefully as it start to fill.

    Brakes to soft after conversion

Any help. I did the scarebird front disc conversion on my 66 dart. rear it still the 9 in drums. I changed out the master cyl with a newer 2 chambered version (1 for front, 1 for back). I even install an adjustable valve that goes to the rear brakes, just in case. I thought it was all fine...

    Dreaded clunk when turning

This is great info you guys rock. Let me ask , will that carrier and large gear come out easily or do I need to also remove the gas tank? BTW I have it jacked up on stands on the axle, not the frame.

    Dreaded clunk when turning

In the manual it says the Drive gear bolts are left hand. But what is the drive gear? That big gear? I was hesitant to remove the whole carrier for fear of messing up the measurements that the manual shows. But are you guys saying that if I undo the 2 bolts on each of the bearing caps, that...

    Dreaded clunk when turning

Ok emergency. I am now looking to remove the pin that holds the spiders and there is no bolt holding it in? And one end is slotted? Does this have to be driven out? Can that be done with it on the car?? This is not how it looks in manual.
