cubic inch is always the way to go although you'll have no problems getting into the 11s with the 408 why not go that extra bit and go bigger... 440 source sells two kits for a 383 one gets you to a 438 the other 496.

ive done .080 but the mech... shop did have to cut the intake. but it wasn't a big deal. all my stock rocker assembly still worked fine, but i did shim up my rocker shafts, which anyone could do. hope that helps...
