New poll: What would you do and why?

Been wallering around with this lump until I'm just about wore out. The engine and trans was pulled from a running car (dad's '72 Challenger that younger brother rolled) 3 years ago and has been in a heated garage ever since. The engine is complete from air cleaner to oil pan, has the...

    318 in a 67 Notch???

Check the 5th digit of the VIN. If it is a D the car came with a 273, a G would be a 318. The LA 318 was available in the US in '67 B and C bodies as well as trucks. Our northern brothers soldiered on with the Poly 318 until '68 when the LA 318 became available across the board. '68 was also the...

    9" or 10" drums...?

Slants got 9 inchers, V8s got 10s. Discs were optional. Your '70 318 should have the 10 inch drums as standard equipment. Check the 5th digit of the VIN. If it is a G The car should have 10 inch brakes. Hope this helps...

New poll: What would you do and why?

Went and looked at an engine that was listed on Craigslist yesterday. The listing said it was a 318 with a 904 transmission and the asking price was $100. Showed up at the address and the house seemed deserted and there was a for sale sign in the yard but there was a car in the driveway. When I...

    1965 valiant gas cap

Brilliant!! I love a cheap, elegant solution like this. Jealous 'cause I didn't think of this when the cap for my old '66 Valiant got run over by 2 lanes of traffic before I could retrieve it. Thanks for sharing and letting us know how this turned out...

Actually the News and Politics forum is more civilized than the rest of the site. And that's a crying shame. How did things get like this???

    redneck kick down linkage

Just make sure that the kickdown lever at the trans is in the full forward position when the throttle is closed. About the only thing I would change is to replace the spring on the kickdown linkage with a shorter one that would hold the linkage in the full forward position once the free end of...
