    I’m going to guess it’s cracked near the bottom of the cylinder because it didn’t look like the gasket was leaking from the camera. I could definitely see water running off the #4 rod when I stuck the camera in the drain plug hole.

    Once I get it torn down and know what’s salvageable I’ll start selling off the parts to recoup some money to put toward a 6.4. It’s funny it ran for a long time like this, and won me many races.

    Well there it is. #4 with what may be a broken ring wedged in the piston and jammed into the head. Everything was brand new at the beginning of 2024. Talk about setting money on fire.

    Should be no problem since I’d run it on methanol at the track. That’s good for 2-3 tenths over gas.

    I don’t want to go near that fast. 6.4 in the 1/8 is as quick as I want. I raced an altered and a dragster for some years, and I don’t want to deal with chassis certs and the other slew of SFI safety crap you need to have fun.

    I have a friend who’s just getting his porting business started so I figured I’d let him have his way with the heads and manifold. Blackbird Performance builds ready to run 6.4s, and their 600hp version is mostly stock other than cam, ported heads and single plane manifold.

    Well it’s not the timing cover, intake or heads. No water in the cylinders, not leaking out any bolt holes, just straight to the oil pan. Only one option left and that is the worst it can be.
