Been driving the car here and there the last couple of years, hauling the kids around town and to local shows. Slowly dialing everything in and solving lingering problems. Dialed in the pinion angle even more, but I still have a decent vibration in the front at 20-25 mph. I think it might be the...
OK so chasing down this vibration, I had the front wheels rebalanced by a different shop. That helped a ton and leads me to believe the vibration is steering/suspension related. I had the pinion checked out and it came in at -3, which seems appropriate given the rear suspension setup.
In the...
I got the same response as you did and it took me months to even get a quote after pestering the shop.
Went with a blueprint crate and haven't looked back. Good luck.
Not a whole lot going on.
Fixed the steering issue for free, located where the trans is leaking from, installed a bare bones stereo, and raised the rear end up an inch.
I also replaced the urethane trans mount with a rubber mount and the vibrations went way down. Slapped some radials on the...
Ya stock lower rubber bushings. Everything tightened with the weight of the car. Especially important for the lower control arms because the bushings will tear if you don't tighten with the weight of the car on them.
Right on, I've been following along with your build. Awesome work.
I'm at the point now where progress is difficult, but keeping the motivation is harder. So close, yet so far.
Drove the car 50 miles. Did a bolt check after. All good.
I've narrowed the vibration down to the drivetrain. I probably screwed up the pinion so I'll take it by a local 4x4 shop to verify what the actual pinion is. Wish me luck.
I chose the option to convert from KPA to PSIG as I am a little more familiar with PSIG. 0=atmosphere. The table was built from scratch and started out very linear. Based on research on this forum, a little youtube university, and some datalogging it has evolved to what you see above, although I...
