    So….. ever over carburate?

I converted my Dutra built Slant 6 to a 2bbl set-up, and then fitted a Holley 2bbl on it in place of the factory style carb. I tried a 350cfm Holley and then a 500cfm Holley. The 500cfm version made noticeably more top end power, but lost a huge amount of mid-range torque. I ended up running...

EFI tech video: How baffled and sumped fuel tanks work

Nice job on the video. Tanks have come a long way in the last 10 years. Some of the factory style drop-in pump assemblies are great as well, but require a large hole be cut in the tank and they can protrude above the tank significantly. Before the availability of inexpensive baffled fuel tanks...

    Update and a strange situation..

Wilwood makes a steel spacer. Aluminum is a distant second choice. It's too soft. Make sure your lug nuts are long enough too. If that the clearance you posted a picture of, that should be plenty of room...says the man with 325/50-15's on an E-Body. Drive it around some good corners and check...

Valve cover breather set up suggestions

It was noticeable by the seat-of-the-pants dyno. I'm sure you've felt the air blast on the highway when opening the interior vents. Here's the link to the place I ordered my air cleaner from. I used a couple 4" duct flanges and dryer hose to finish the job. https://www.ramairbox.com/parts.html

Valve cover breather set up suggestions

I've used a PCV valve in the valve cover that runs through an air compressor water trap and then into the side of the pluneum on the manifold. Worked flawlessly, and during the winter it would need to be drained weekly to keep the water and small amounts of oil out of the ventilated air. I also...

    Run power source for relays.

I generally use non-switched 12V like you have shown in your photo for the main relay power, and switched 12V for the relay trigger wire. You can use that single attachment point distribution lug to add individual fused outputs. I always use a Marine Grade products for wiring accessories.

    Torsion bar adjustment question

As mentioned above, not necessarily. Measure from the top of you front wheel well to the ground. Both sides should be even. It's best to adjust the bolts with the front end lifted, and then drive around the block to settle the suspension before remeasuring. Pulling in and out of the driveway a...

Rust issues on an only 3 year old car.

An old timer my dad bought a '68 Coupe De Ville from used to regularly wash it exclusively with a couple gallons of warm water with a cup of kerosene mixed into it. He would then wipe it dry with a soft cloth. The kerosene is oil based and stopped it from rusting at the seams. It also coated and...

    Blue Print Hemi

I thought there were problems with K-member and steering interference issues. Please elaborate.

    Blue Print Hemi

I was put off by what appeared to be required to fit the G3 into one of our A-Bodies. I didn't research too deeply, but at first glance it looks pretty extensive and very expensive to update the front suspension to allow it to fit. I don't count exhaust, fuel system upgrades, chassis stiffening...

    Shop must haves

Yes, it is, but it rarely has any water in it. 99% of the time I've only had trace amounts blow out towards the bottom of the fire extinguisher. Its never dripped or sprayed on the outlet, as this is the 150psi feed from the compressor before the regulator. Even partially opening the ball valve...

    Shop must haves

I installed 50" of 3/4" galvanized pipe that zig-zags up the wall, and has a vertical drop at the flexible connector from the compressor and another one at the end of the far end. They both have ball valves to drain each one. I also ran a dog-leg up to the water trap and then on to my outlets...

Time for new 15” tires for a 460 hp Dart.

The first time I saw Nitto DR's on the front and rear of a car was at Willow Springs Road Course on a big block B-Body. It was all about the proper tire pressure for that type of driving, and they worked great. I was surprised by it at the time. I also made the mistake of using too low of a...

    440 Cooling Question “Champion Rad”

I have always though of our chassis as being similar to a shoe boxes, which are easy to twist, especially convertibles which are more like having the top of the box removed. There was a good video years ago from a now defunct company that showed the chassis flex using tape placed diagonally...
