New switch in place. Contact for horn ring sits about 1/8" higher than on the original switch. Makes contact with the ring now.

Thanks for this link .... I have already ordered and installed the replacement switch and ring from Classic Industries. I agree, the quality of that switch is not up to the OEM level but it did indeed solve my issue. I did the new ring only because the insulation on my old one was falling apart...

The little roller on the the TS switch sits at the same height as the shelf on the shaft that the base of the wheel sits against, yet the contact ring is 3/16" above that shelf on the wheel (see pic with ruler). I have a 70 Dart Swinger that the horn has never worked since purchased. I got around to fixing it this week and after tracing and testing all wiring I found that there is a gap of about 1/8" to 3/16" between the steering wheel contact ring and the roller contact on the turn signal switch...

Wow, this generated a lot of conversation!! Wish I could provide more input on dates but this all came with a different (points) distributer and no ECU so I have no idea. BTW, if anyone is interested, The box it all came in was from Royal Dodge, 15095 S. Gordon, Alvin, TX, 77511.

Bought a NOS points distributor off eBay a while back and the guy sent it in an old box with some original electronic ignition instructions and a couple old stickers. Pretty cool .... hopefully you guys can open up the PDF.

I was thinking possibly parking brake but I only removed the master cylinder at the time I put it in the bag. Doesn't mean it wasn't on the parking brake tho. Whoever originally put this car together did some odd things! lol
