    Proform 950 main body swap

I read several places now that the 950 holley isnt really a 950, that its more like an 830. It does have smaller venturis and bore than an 850 according to the holley manual I have. They say that it is flowed differently and it rating is more optimistic? I was thinking of jumping ahead of the...

Gear Vendors in but big engine problems

I thought it was bad when Port Flow Development put short pushrods in my 440 and it trashed my Comp rockers. He gave me chinese junk to fill in until my Comps were fixed and then decided F me. He didn't even respond to the Better Business Bureau. Now I have to drive 50 miles to file in small...

    Proform 950 main body swap

Where do you go to get a carb wet flowed? Am I just jerking myself around playing with these bodies, or should I just buy a bad -*** new carb. I read alot about everyone needing more carb, but I've got a stock eliminator friend who thinks my 440 is overcarbed with an old 4781 850 because his...

    Proform 950 main body swap

Anyone tried using the Proform 950 body on an 850dp (4781)? The tech line for them said that they use the same baseplate but the 950 holley has 1 11/16 bore and the 850 has 1 3/4. Wont the 850 make more power no matter what they call it - bigger is better isnt it? I got the 950 body and set it...

    2bbl vs Thermoquad

If driven without opening the secondaries, the T-quad would probably give better economy. The primary blades are smaller on it than on the 2 bbl.

    ok it runs but poorly??

Put a vacuum gauge on it - if the chain is off or its out of time the reading will be low(look in an old Chiltons manual and they have several pages of vacuum readings and what they mean.) It's very old school but a great diagnostic tool. Also, I chased my tail on a car that did the same thing...

    How will this carb work?

I've got a 13:1 domed piston 446 with stock Edelbrock heads, a roller cam .630-.630 with 268 & 278 at .050, Mopar M1 single plane intake, going into a 70 Dart with 4:56 and 29" tires for drag racing only. I'm out of money cause I just bought a new Harley and I only have an 800 DP thats been...

    Milodon oil pans

I've got a 1970 Dart with a slant six K member and Schumacher mounts. What drag race oil pan will work with a 440 and no modification. My stock pan needed hammering to clear the drag link and I don't want to hammer on a new Milodon drag pan.

    Holley HP carb questions

My engine builder recommended a new HP 950 carb for my new roller 440. I've read on two different sites that these carbs don't flow what they're rated at. ( the 950 is supposed to be like an 830 and the 1000 an 870). I'm told that these carbs are tested at 2.06" instead of the industry standard...

    Eagle / rpm rods

Anyone used these rods? And are they good to 700 or 800 horse like they say, or would I be better off with my six pack rods? My 13:1 roller 440 should be around 600 horse, but I'm sure I'll want more.

    451 or 440?

Thanks for the info. My buddy swears by the 451 but he was unable to quantify the advantages. I NEED one of these.
