Yes I know what you mean. I've come down from Maine to run in the Independence Showdown race they have at MGR and running 1/8 mile there seems to take forever to get to the turn off at the end of the track! Same at New England Dragway in New Hampshire when they run 1/8 mile events.
Also, IHRA leadership just posted that they had reached out to the NHRA to work out a cooperative agreement to host the NHRA national event at Maple Grove this September. Not surprisingly NHRA leadership wouldn't even talk with them about it. NHRA instead moved the event to US 131 Motorsports Park.
up here in Maine my season ended 3 weeks ago. Could have run a couple of more weekends at New England Dragway but decided after 7 wins this season there was nothing else to accomplish and I wanted to get an early start on getting things freshened up for next season. Engine will be out tomorrow...
John,

gentlemen,
I asked this question to gain knowledge on the equipment that I have in my possession. I did not ask the question for some to chime in with condescension concerning the equipment in the car. I did not build this car. It is as I bought it. I'm 69 years old and a one man show. I...
Car weighs 2480 with me in it. As for power, I have no idea as the previous owner never had the engine or chassis on a dyno, and I haven't either. Using math formulas to calculate power it comes out to around 740 HP. How accurate that is I have no idea.
This is how the car was built and how it was when I bought it. I don't have the time or funds it would take to reconfigure the chassis to accept a 727 or 904.
You don't like it and that is fine, it's your choice to make. But it's helpful to get some facts before you make statements questioning...
