It's a little bittersweet after all that work on the 67 but I couldn't pass up the Super Bee.
The Dart went as part of the deal. We still have A bodies in the shop but I'm without now.
I had a 67 Fairlane with the same issue. Web search will provide some info.
Try this stuff instead of grease on your door pins and trunk latch... it's solved a few squeaks for me over the years.
Like someone asked, what is the application?
For my street only application;
I've had 3.55s in my Dart for a year now. With 245 60 15 tires you can't floor it under 40ish mph without lighting them up. I love it but I want a better highway cruise. I'm going to switch to 3.23. A 408 doesn't need...
Ok I lied, it wasn't a 'wrap' just yet. I've added a front sway bar... a Hellwig 5906. It tightened the cars feel quite a bit in the turns and going down a bumpy road it feels like it tracks better. Great addition, the car is a blast to drive! I recommend this to anyone thinking about it...
I installed a HW 5906 last weekend. Looks great, nice hardware, bolted right up... only thing I had to do was make the holes in the k-member a bit bigger. Tightened the feel of the car right up... a little pricey here in Canada but what isn't?
Cheers
End of my thread has a few pics.
67 Dart...
Can anyone tell me what's the best choice for an aftermarket sway bar? I've read about them but there's conflicting results.
I need a 'kit' as the car never had one... and stock stuff isn't available around here.
Is it Hellwig or Hotchkis and that's it? Pricey stuff (I'm in Canada).
It's a stock...
Maybe the last post on this one. Bugs are all worked out... it drives great! 6000 rpm shifts get the old heart pumpin'! Roll control is fun too! :) I'll probably put a front sway bar on it but other than that, this one's a wrap!
A friend is about to embark on his 70 Dart project. Cam selection is coming soon. Please share a sound clip of your combo if you have one. Any info you have too like engine, cam and exhaust.
I'll go first...
408, Lunati 704, Flowmaster 50.
I agree... the lopey cam doesn't mean what it used to. Technology changed all that.
I know a smooth running Corvette will beat my Dart but I don't like them.
Personally, I'm stuck in the 70's and 80's anyways. I love those purple cammed 440 4000 pound barges running 13's ... and Led Zeppelin...
