I have a 71 340 demon, 4spd, 3:91 ... it has a mild cam , X heads, I don't know what the cam size is , its not stock, on start up , it will idle with choke set , when the choke is off , it dies until warm after you feather the fuel, ... then when you get on the road and go from first to second...

i have a 340 in a 71 duster , I just timed it and after it warms up a bit as your driving it and when you go from first to second gear it dies , but starts back , , it may do this once or twice then its ok, is it a carb problem or does it need more timing , any thoughts ,it has a larger cam but...

The reason I'm question oil viscosity , about ever 2 yrs I strip the engine down of all of it's accessories , hoses, wiring , radiator , etc and do a repaint and cleaning of the engine for car show season , I've noticed that there is a slight seepage of oil from were the heads meet the block ...

Why a diesel oil because of zinc content ?

I live in Kentucky , during the summer months it can get to 90 degree plus , but it stays in to mid to high 80s , I only drive the car in the spring and summer mnths only to cruises and shows ... I didn't rebuild the motor and Im unaware of the specs ... So I'm looking for the best combination...

The motor was rebuilt about 4 years ago, has appox. 10,000 on it , slightly heavy cam , been running 10-40 in it
