Fan clutch Hayden 2747 vs Mopar 4095704

Thanks for the video, great information.. for a minute there it had my head spinning at the same speed as the fan!! Then it started to sink into my viscous brain. Think I've got it now.

Fan clutch Hayden 2747 vs Mopar 4095704

Thanks for the responses. I got my freshly done radiator back, and think I'll put the MP clutch back in and check it out. I appreciate the comments on the 2747 noise. If I need it I can be fine with that. Radiator was pretty clogged so it should now cool like it used to!!

Fan clutch Hayden 2747 vs Mopar 4095704

Hey guys, I'm wanting some of your wise and experienced viewpoints. I ordered the Hayden 2747 fan clutch wanting to optimize my 340 cooling. (along with Stewart 180 thermostat and stock 22" radiator refresh.) When I pulled my existing clutch I found it to be the Mopar Performance 4095704...

    Radiator ID help needed

B&D Radiator in McClouth KS is going to get my existing 22"-er back in shape. Temp was 92* today and my 340 wanted to stay at 110*+ on the Interstate at 75 mph and checking I was only getting a 20* difference top to bottom with IR gun. Shop said it should be around 40* cooler.

    Radiator ID help needed

Thanks, Dana67Dart, it's been nearly 30 years with my 340 and since I got this radiator and did this set up. Memory fails, but it appears I must have had the brackets reversed and the lower outlet moved when I set this up!!! Looking closely I see that it has been altered, and I know my 340 has...

    Radiator ID help needed

The only radiators I find that even have the outlet/inlet both on the drivers side are B body big block units, even though my numbers say 340 A body (according to numbers listed here on FABO by someone...)

    Radiator ID help needed

Hi Guys, been a while since I checked in, but I'm thinking of a replacement radiator ahead of my 340. The one I'm running I do remember pulling from a salvage yard Dart, and I believe the numbers say it was from a 1972 340 car. (Core 22"w x 17"h and total radiator height 22". Inlet and outlet...

    518 Screech in neutral

AJ, you certainly have a knack for thinking things through! Many have benefitted here. Took some time tonight to see what I could find out. All seemed normal driving around the neighborhood. What I did find is that my switches only activate the OD and lock-up when in drive, and have no...

    518 Screech in neutral

Thanks again, AJ, that gives me some things to work with. I've sorta regretted not building the trans myself, as I've done everything else (engine, carb, headers, wiring, suspension, etc.) from front to rear myself. The trans the only thing I didn't, so that remains somewhat of a mystery...

    518 Screech in neutral

Yeah, I've never done that one again!!! I'm running 4:11's and mostly drive around town, or runs on back country roads, only use the overdrive when on road trips on the highways. But what a blessing that is when I'm on the Interstate, to be able to drop the revs to 2700-2800 or so! (Maybe it...

    518 Screech in neutral

Thanks AJ, good info, and as often, a bit beyond my knowledge, but thanks for the logical assessment. I am now recalling (best of my memory..) that I may have briefly heard something similar coming down from OD/lock-up cruise to near stop and switching (toggles) out of OD/lock-up when I forgot...

    518 Screech in neutral

Couldn't get my phone to edit, but wanted to add that the 11" converter is a lockup unit.

    518 Screech in neutral

Yesterday while running around town, when I put my 518 in neutral it (or converter?) responded with a very loud screech. (I had a similar quite disturbing sound once in the past, but it turned out the flex plate bolts were rubbing on my dust cover, removed it and left it off.) I pulled off to...
