We have a couple more things in common besides the nickname. I lived in South Dakota in 1981-82 then I also moved to Texas (San Marcos) and spent 3 years there. That's when my new Texas friends started calling me Dr. Dodge because I had a 66 Coronet, then a 70' Dart along with my first '67...
Welcome aboard, Dr. Dodge! That used to be my nickname back in the day. Even had it on my van and business cards!
That's a big snow drift on the side of the road behind me. Kind of a crappy picture.
I look at things like those giant cocks and wonder how they can be built and sold that cheap. I realize it's basically slave labor & mass production, but I also try to imagine how long it would take me to build and paint something like that and then sell it for only $300.00.
PS... we have a...
Yea, we got a 5 inch snowstorm on Tuesday and it's snowing again right now, probably another 4 inches or so by the time it's done. The driving season for me is officially done!
Those little fuel pressure gauges that mount directly into the dual feed lines are know to fail frequently due to the heat from the engine. I've had a couple of them fail already on my setup. I plan to switch to adding a fuel pressure gauge inside of the car and also using a fuel pressure...
Thanks. I just slid the entire cage and motor into the furnace and plugged it in to an extension cord. Up and running great for now, until my replacement motor arrives! I want to keep the spare cage for my shop recirculation unit because it works so good.
Cheers!
Happy Thanksgiving! We celebrated ours early last weekend and decided to just take it easy today and putz around with misc. fun stuff...
Our furnace had a different idea! We just had a snow storm yesterday and then the blower motor seized up last night. We could smell something electrical...
24 initial seemed a little high and going all the way to 18 seems a little low. Maybe bump it up to 20 or 22 and see if that makes any difference before changing jets again. The biggest rule for me in fine tuning is to only change one thing at a time to see how each thing affects it. You'll get...
Even just with a wool pad, it comes out really amazing. You can switch to a foam pad and give it light final polish. I've polished 2000 grit with ease but going finer would speed it up for sure. Different paint systems have different polishing characteristics and hardness, as well as how long...
well, now you know why I suggested checking all the basics for sources of vacuum leaks, etc. Pretty hard to tune with a loose carburetor! I'd try a set of even smaller jets in the front primaries, like 68... if it were me. Then get some new vacuum readings at various cruise speeds and at idle...
