NASCAR has been using coated parts for awhile if they didn't work I guareentee they wouldn't use it.I've used coated bearings in several of my own and cust comp eng's.but have yet to inspect any of them(yes they are still running)My belief I wouldn't use any non coated parts in any of the eng's...

What you need to do even before you try to start the car is check to make sure the outer ring on the balancer is'nt spun.Take out #1 spark plug.ONLY by hand turn the engine to TDC by the piston forget the timing marks on the balancer for now.It doesn't matter whether or not comp or exh stroke...
