The "Nobody will want it" 73 Duster Driver project

I wish I saw this earlier. I finished putting the rear springs, filled it (so I would not forget) and adjusting the height so I could drop it to ride height and measure for the driveshaft and noticed the bottom of the diff with a slight wetness. I thought maybe the gasket didn't seal, but now...

The "Nobody will want it" 73 Duster Driver project

Completed patch panel weld repair on quarter. Test fitting the new rear. Stock springs were junk so ordered ESPO springs +1 but not here until July so I will run it with the stock junk on the longest shackle. I like the fit of the rear. Wheel shown is a little bigger than stock, not sure...

340 duster call out numbers on the quarter panel removal adhesive question

Before you do all that work can you at least try the wet sand idea? Personally, I would wet sand 1000 grit (like you were working down orange peel) and take your time, by hand, with a block. Then 2000 when the ridge is gone/less. And see if you still have clear left after its smooth. If you...

The "Nobody will want it" 73 Duster Driver project

I agree. I was pleasantly surprised. It spent most of its life in Florida and moved up to NC for a little while so survived with minimal rust. Although, I am finding more Bondo that I would prefer. Someone must have owned stock!

The "Nobody will want it" 73 Duster Driver project

I bought a 70 roadrunner 8-3/4 off B-body only forum and here is me moving the perches and restoring it for install. I pressed in new studs (got rid of reverse thread) on both sides and did a total brake rebuild. The chunk is a 741 open with 2.9 gears, so that will need to be upgraded one...

The "Nobody will want it" 73 Duster Driver project

Its been a long time since my last update, but I have been driving and working on the car. Took it on the Hot Rod Power tour in 2023 and it overheated due to stuck thermostadt and old water pump, but have been doing a lot. Here is the build sheet I found under the seat. Pretty basic Then I...

    Hot Rod Power Tour 2024

I am planning on attending this year. I went last year and did not see too many A-bodies. Hope that changes. Here is Day one line up to tour flashback... (I'm driving the leaning tower of power). Don't think I am theft target LOL!! RGAZ

Driver inlet rad on slant 6

I'll take it when/if you find it. Yeah I will probably make a bracket to hold it away from the crank pulley. I'll take some pictures as I work on it and note anything special. I ordered it today and it should be here by Friday, so if I get to it this weekend I'll reply back here soon. I...

Driver inlet rad on slant 6

I have an extra radiator that has bottom inlet on drivers side. Want to use it with the 73 Duster stock slant 6. Top rad hose is no problem, anyone figured the best option for routing the bottom inlet over? I am sure I can figure something out, but wanted to check the brain-trust first. RGAZ

Does anyone know what driveshaft I need for a 904 to 8.75 rear

A driveshaft shop can shorten it easily. They aren't near you but I use these guys. Super old school. https://carolinadriveline.com/ At least go to their site and use their forms to make proper measurements. Their forms are very good. BTW - I am doing the exact same thing to my 73 duster...

[WANTED] 120MPH speedo for 73 Duster or Equivalent

Not to be that way, but I would rather deal with a member of the forum as the ebay parts I bought before their definition of "working" is not usually accurate. I would rather have someone here who can help me out and would understand my need. Unless that is a member on ebay, but i cannot tell...
