Freds 73 Scamp restore on a budget

I'm workin' on it when I can. The more I look the more there is to do. I gotta quit thinkin' 'good' is the enemy of 'perfect'. And there comes a time when I have to quit planning and just get dirty.

    The incredible folding Cuda!

Dentist is in! Kinda what I feel like anyway, getting to the hidden rot. I need this rocker to be in decent shape strength wise as that's what will be supporting it replacing the floor, torsion support, front end, etc.

Absolutely beautiful car, Fred. You're an inspiration.

    The incredible folding Cuda!

Started workin on rehabin the front tub from the '74 Dart donor, sucking the rusty crud out of the frame rails. I'm going to run a 'cleaner' of some sort down them.. like a pile of rags in a ball, on the end of a chimney sweep rod I have (kinda like a thick fishing pole). Then a spray with some...

    This makes no damn sense.

Although, replying to my post, if the shaft moved that much in the box you'd have more problems, lol.

    This makes no damn sense.

Maybe a chunk of grease or crud in the box that pulling on the wheel/shaft knocked loose/broke up?

Crap. Had to refuse my AMD order.

Got my new stuff a few minutes ago, all good! **** happens. Kudos to AMD for making it right in a decent time frame.

    Trans cooler under the car??

I remember having a mid-70's Dodge van with a 6. Had a 20 mile drive to work in these lovely Wisconsin winters. Had a spare radiator from a Volare.. cut off the trans cooler and mounted it ahead of the drivers seat rails. Didn't help as much as I thought it would, still had to use a blanket. :)

    I've been a 3+ pack a day smoker for 35+ years. Haven't had a smoke for 45 hours.

I'm about ready to bear down. I've got just about every damn thing I need.

If you're thinking about it, just do it. I 'thought' about it for years.. those have a way of turning from a few years to tens of years. There's a lot of ways to have a 'cool down' that a smoke gives you. For me, I walk around the block (or a few blocks) did the trick. The nicotine (for me)...

I MADE IT A YEAR! I still talk to people that are shocked I did this... I was the poster boy for smoking. I feel so much better. Things smell so much better. Things taste so much better (and that's a curse in it's on way!). Seriously, if I can do this, you can. If you're thinking about it...
