Oh yeah, it's out of a 1972 Satelite if that makes any difference.

    Drilled 318 harmonic balancer

I've got a question for one of the experts on the site. I've always thought 318's were all internally balanced. Just took this photo of the harmonic balancer on my 318, do the drilled out holes indicate that it's externally balanced? I'm replacing it and want to make sure I get the right one...

    Wilwood residual pressure valves?

Hi guys I've got a question for you. I swapped 73 disc brakes on to my 71 Duster a few years back. The 10" drums on the back have too much pull so I'm putting in a Willwood proportioning valve next weekend. I've seen Willwood also makes residual pressure valves which "retain a minimum brake...

    Oil Pan Gasket?

Thanks for the suggestions do you guys usually put silicon on between the gasket and block or just between the pan and gasket? I only ask because last time around (about 9 years ago) I used number 2 sealer on both sides of a cork gasket and I had to basically chisel the pan off this time, it was...

    Oil Pan Gasket?

What do you guys use on your oil pan gaskets? #2 gasket sealer? Silicon? I dropped my pan over the weekend to put in a windage tray, got a nice Milodon pan gasket, and want to make sure I get a nice leak free seal. Thanks.

318 oil pump drive shaft removal

I've got a similar but opposite situation, any time I've pulled my distributor, my drive gear/shaft pops up with it and the only way to get it seated back in the pump is to turn the motor over, meaning I lose my timing marks. Anyone else ever have trouble with this? Is my shaft possibly worn out?

    reuse water pump?

I was just facing the same situation, but mine was over 10 years old, a new one was only $20 at Schuck's so it didn't make sense not to replace it to me.

Gas pedal / throttle linkage question

The Lokar stuff actually hooked up fine for the most part, its the the little spring clip thats part of the stock gas pedal. It came off and I can't figure out how it goes back on. Seems to work fine without it though. Factory service manual calls it an anti-rattle spring but doesn't show how it...

Gas pedal / throttle linkage question

Hi everyone, I haven't posted to this board before but have been reading it for a while. Very good stuff. I've got a question, I was installing Lokar's throttle cable / kickdown cable kit over the weekend on my 71 Duster w/ 318 & 727. At some point the anti rattle spring/clip dealy came of the...
