    Vertigo

I did not have the surgery. The surgery requires removal of a section of the skull behind the ear, repairing the bone separating the ear canal from the brain cavity then replacing and securing the part of the skull removed for access. I felt the cure was not worth the extreme risk of the...

    Vertigo

Ask your doc about Superior canal dehiscence syndrome. I have the exact symptoms you describe. A Doc in Pittsburgh diagnosed me.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Learn to play the piano, listening to one is a great pleasure now. Stay in the Air Force, there is nothing better on the outside. Be painfully honest with your parents, they will respect you for it. I have to give a big thumbs up to the guy that said " keep your pecker in your pants".

What's your biggest, best, funniest most bone-headed move related to your car?

In 77 or so my wife had a bulls eye in the windshield or her 72 Duster. Soon it evolved into a crack about 2 feet long and would no longer pass inspection. On the following Saturday I headed to the salvage yard and picked up a good windshield for $30. When I got home I removed the cracked...

Your favorite road trip car ?

In 73,4 and 5 I was in the Air Force stationed in New Hampshire. The 13 hour drive to get home on leave was easy in my 67 Newport. First car I ever had with cruise control. I had to really work at staying awake coming across I80

How about pics of car you got your first drivers license in.

My first try was in my Grandpa's 67 Chevy Biscane and the PA Trouper failed me without any good reason. I had to wait until the following Saturday and I had to use my Dad's 63 Belair Wagon. ( picture is from the net) Straight 6 and 3 speed column shifter, manual steering and brakes. I spent...

    Old is when?

The last time you had to replace the shallow well water pump in your crawl space it took 2 hours including the trip to the hardware store to buy a pump and last weekend it took a day and a half to do the same job. 64 sucked but 74 really sucks.

    Have you ever lost

When I finally made it to 70 3 years ago I thought, wow I feel pretty good, I have enough strength left to do anything I want, my wife and I have enough money to be comfortable and have a toy to play with. That toy is our 66 Belvedere, built 440, (500ish hp) 727 with shift kit and 3.91 rear...

    Old man’s memories

1975, I had left the Air Force after 4 years active and bought a used 75 Roadrunner. The car was a real slug being a 318 auto but it sure was pretty. After work one day a few of us went for a beer or 2. After 3 bars or so someone said we should all pile in to Ricks Fury and go to Stans apartment...

    Random Carburetor Question

Most Q-Jets were year and model specific. The number on one of those could be worth its weight in gold to a dude with a 68 427 Stingray. Also they came in 750 and 800 cfm, the latter are pretty hard to find. Jerry

Wife went out and bought me a present

On my Toro Titan when the engine is not running the hydraulic trans axles are locked up. If I lose power while cutting this beast will not move. In order to push it around the garage there are spring leavers that have to be un-latched to free up the axles. Go out and try pushing your Scag...

    Another boring mpg story…

NW PA here, 35 miles from Lake Erie, it is humid here even on the best days. Here are my facts. 12 year old Echo string trimmer. E10/87 stays in it from season to season even throughout the winter and it starts with 3 pulls every spring. Original spark plug and primer bulb. The same story is...

    The Lucky Kid

This post brought back a memory for me. It was 1979 and the year before my wife and I were finally able to buy a new car. A beautiful black and tan Mercury Zephyr. The following year an elder lady backed out of a space at the local plaza and crunched my driver's side front fender. I was upset as...

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

You probably don't want to hear this but you should make sure the engine in the car is the same one you had rebuilt. A fresh 340 is worth a lot of money and it wouldn't be hard for him to dress up a 318 for your car and sell the fresh one for a profit at your expense. Sorry to bring this up. Jerry
