Best way to add front sway bar

Yeah,I installed a set of Addco, front and rear on my '66 Signet years ago and they were bolt on.They performed well during racing and autocross.I need frame connectors because my hardtop body would flex so much the doors would come open during racing, those bars really stuck the car to the track.

    Why Is It?

As a former flat rate tech, you learn diagnostics are 90% of a job.It requires either hard learned experience or diligent studying combined with research skills as to where to find resources. All this adds up to work which seemingly many find too tedious in todays world, whatcha think?

    71/72 SBM 340

Wow,I'm surprised, the engine is a runner ! Never had heads off when I built it,but the power and RPMs it turns are impressive and soooo much fun,it's a blast to kick around corners.(4spd/323 posi) it's in a 66 Valiant Signet 2 door hardtop, with Knoi's,addco and Biltsteins and plus 1 wheels and...

    71/72 SBM 340

    I have read often,but never posted,hope this is correct...Have a 71 or 72 340,built 40 years ago, very lumpy purple cam, just know you're rolling on floor now,anti pump up lifters,stock rockers,dual plane Holly 650 double pumper,Accel dual point,no vacuum advance,Echlin Super coil,stock 340...

Computer control has done much to improve brake operation, fuel economy and safety. As a former road warrior and a triple master ASE,with more than 50 years experience,I found if truck drum brakes were correctly adjusted and operated there was never a time when I couldn't depend on them,road...

Correct,I did not mean in any way to argue against dual master or safety aspect and I will be first to say discs will probably stop a vehicle in a shorter distance assuming everything is near optimum operating condition. And road surface is the same.I didn't include abs operation as I think that...

Trucks currently use both, however, overwhelmingly the numbers are with drums.I suspect discs are optional at extra cost.

For what it's worth dept;I have 66 Signet 2 dr hardtp. 340/4spd built with BB torsion bars,Konis, sway bars, built for hard, fast road courses.Used to race in NH before New Hampshire International,on road course, half dozen corners, bowls, offset high speed crests, very challenging.I raced in modified...

    Coil Over vs Torsion Bar

Good comparo about capabilities, but even the Polara could be made to handle relevent to the amount of $ thrown into it,right? Not being cynical, almost anything can be improved with enough resources, well maybe not a 2Cv !

    Coil Over vs Torsion Bar

Thanks for that pic, looks a good fit.Familiar w/Appliance.Remember,I have side exhaust, may give in and exit inner fenders to join side pipes.(potential conflict with laws regarding external pipes)So ---have options to consider.Basic concern c/o verses t/b was space limitations, removed p/s to...

    Coil Over vs Torsion Bar

I have done high speed road courses(max speed under 120)with L & R turns, hills and bowls with t bars and have enjoyed the handling ability of my little A body.My future goals are to install workable headers to increase power and speed.Never too much, right?

    Coil Over vs Torsion Bar

That "room" thing is a big issue with me and anyone with pre-67 chassis.I want safe, full clearance with steering, headers etc,as I push mine like a 'shine runner with bingo lights on his tail! Will def. ck that site, thanks again.I also until now was running single master cyl/drums,but I drilled...

    Coil Over vs Torsion Bar

Clutch info well taken, hadn't caught that one, long time ago build, think might have 11"? B&B,have to revisit.Very stiff. Surprised 67 pipes could be made to fit.Damn narrow chassis! Many thanks.

    Coil Over vs Torsion Bar

Thanks, that looks like what I need!Crossmember mods are no problem.I think with an "s"pipe I can still use use my 4" side pipes(yep, that's right,Corvette-style 4"full length)gives it some character, don't ya know.I've got her hung pretty good,bb torsion bars, sway bars front and back,Konis all...
