I have 15 inch wheels on my Scamp, lots of clearance. The JEEP has a Dana 44 rear. The rear disc brakes will bolt onto the 8/75 rear with one modification to the 2 caliper brackets. (see Mopar Action AUG 2018 pg 66.)After that mod it's 100% bolt on.
I was the one that found-out that all the parts inter-change between 02-07-Liberty's, 92-97-
Grand Cherokees, and 03-07-Wranglers. Liberty rotors, pads, and calipers are more beefier. Forget rockauto! Get the calipers from Autozone an the rest on-line or at amazon. very inexpensive. He mention...
I'm James talk about it. Truth be told, FACTS: I knew Eburg for over 12yrs, Around 2012 i came to him with the Rear-Disc-Brakes-Swap idea, from a 03 JEEP Liberty. I put the rear disc set-up on my 75-Scamp. see photo at left. He was not interested at first, then about 7yrs later he was. I showed...

This is a rear disc brake set-up i put on my 1980 Ply Volar'e station wagon. It's a 8.75 rear from a 1970 B-Body. The calipers, pads and rotor are from a 03-07 Liberty. The caliper bracket is from a 1995 Grand Cherokee. The bracket must be modified to work on all 8.75 rears. The brackets are all...
Hey 71T440. You can swap to rear disc brakes from a 2002 to 2007 Jeep Liberty. Or 93 to 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. An a Jeep Wrangler 2003 to 2006. See the story me (TALK ABOUT IT) an one of the writers at Mopar action did back on AUG, OCT, 2018 issue. One modification must be done to the caliper...
I did put Dippy Aspen Volare calipers on my 75 Scamp for years, an they work great. I never measured the piston diameter. The F-J-M-Body pistons did look bigger. Remember if u get non A-body calipers.. Passenger goes on Driver-side. an vise-versa.
If you want to use the BIG 12 inch rotors from...
If you have 73 an up A-body knuckles u can swap them to ether side, left to right to left. The calipers will be to the front and the hose will not be to short. All A-bodys had the calipers to the front. Aspen Volare had there calipers to the rear. Easy way to know if it will work, the hard brake...
This is the 95 Grand Cherokee Set-up [all from the junk yard] on
The A-Body 8.75 rear. On my 75 Scamp, the up-grade to the Liberty stuff is 100% bolt-on.
[I did not change my proportioning valve]
U will if your car came with drums up front.
