    HEI setup with vacume advance. Whether you use the $45 ebay ones, or higher end. Great reliability and performance for your buck. I currently run a DUI HEI (Davis Unified Ignition) no issues whatsoever.

    Timing and Carb adjustment will fix that. Buy a timing light and use the service book for the proper settings. It may take you a couple of times but its easy and will save you money.
