Throw-out Bearing Spinning on Clutch Fork

Just to close the loop, I replaced the ToB this weekend and it solved the issue. There was no noticeable damage/issue with the original bearing but it was indeed causing the problem.

Throw-out Bearing Spinning on Clutch Fork

I didn't know that non-hydraulic T.O. bearings had carriers. Unless I'm misinformed about my verbiage and the carrier is the "ears" of the T.O. bearing.

Throw-out Bearing Spinning on Clutch Fork

That is what I was thinking as well, it very well may have been touching while running which probably prematurely cooked the bearing. I did adjust it back out last night for ~1/8" of play before it makes contact with the pressure plate, but made no difference (I figure the bearing are already...

Throw-out Bearing Spinning on Clutch Fork

My only counter point to those is; clutch fork should be correct as I have part numbers to match fork, with the bellhousing, pivot, and trans from Brewers. Clutch fork tips look like they are too long but are not, the bearing has spun in a position that make it look that way. When the bearing is...

Throw-out Bearing Spinning on Clutch Fork

225 w/A833 & hydraulic clutch with stock fork and throw out. Was driving my valiant last week and the clutch started to go away like a pressure leak in slave or master, could hardly get it in first with the engine running. Pull the dust cover of the trans and looks like my throw-out bearing is...

    Cast Crank

It seems very much like a "1" to me but not 100% sure. Unfortunately I totally assumed this block was a '69 due to the "E" and had all the forged bottom end items ready. Whoops lesson learned

    Cast Crank

The stamping on the top of the block is "1 225 T2 24 E". I had read somewhere that the E indicates a 1969, however that must not be the case. Thanks Dan,

    Cast Crank

What years did they make cast cranks? I ask because I have a 1969 225 that has a cast crank, narrow bearing journal. I was under the presumption that all 60-75 cranks were forged and 76-84 were cast but I must be wrong.

    High Fuel Pressure? (Mechanical Pump)

I mean truly? I've been running them for 10+ years on all my slants with zero issue ever

    High Fuel Pressure? (Mechanical Pump)

Hoping there is a simple solution I haven't thought of yet for this one. Few weeks ago I had a failed mechanical fuel pump on my 65' Valiant 225 slant 6 so I went to o'rileys and bought a new M16124 pump, threw it in, fired up and it ran fine. Next weekend I take the Valiant up to the mountains...
