I cut out most of the old Dutchman panel. Now I have more room to work on the welded pieces attached to the left and right quarters. You can see in the photo the hack job they did to where the rear package tray attaches to the Dutchman panel. Luckly most of this car has proved to be very...
I did a little more work on the Dart recently.
Seeing that I had this rust damage in the trunk that I was repairing, I knew water was leaking in from somewhere… most likely the rear window. I was also suspecting that the Dutchman panel had been replaced by a previous owner long ago. So I...
I lost my father a few months ago. It was hard, but it was harder watching him suffer with dementia and everything before he passed. At least now he’s not suffering.
Remember the happy memories and the love and light they brought to your life. We are truly lucky to have had people like that...
This is one example of the pin holes that I punched, cleaned up with a file, plug welded and ground down. Pretty happy with the results considering I’m still teaching myself how to do all this.
Hey FABO. It’s been a while since I did an update. Progress on the ‘67 GT has been going really slow due to having another surgery and more medical issues. Luckily I’ve made more progress in that area than on the Dart!
I’ve finished patching the trunk area. Just need to plug weld a few...
Thank you. Glad it was a solid product. This will help on my project. I just wish they (or anyone) made the lower window channel corners too. That’s going to be a pain.
Rusty, yes sir, that’s the Dutchman panel. That’s what I’ve heard it called mostly amongst car guys. But looking online I see it listed as a “deck filler panel” by retailers, in case anyone is searching for one FYI.

Does anyone have a photo of the roof frame/support behind the sail panel? Specifically the lower 1/2 of it. I’m referring to the pillar area between the rear quarter window and the windshield. Previous owner did some cutting on mine in an unfinished repair. I’m...
Here is the clear IBM Card copy. Sorry it took me so long. Came down with Covid for a while it was all I could do to get out of bed. Anyway, I hope this helps.
Just FYI, the copy that I got (first pic) was very blurry and difficult to read since it’s from the microfiche. Using a clean, blank card as an overlay I was able to clean it up significantly in photoshop. Now at least it’s readable (pic 2).
I actually emailed the form for mine on March 10th, about an hour before I found this thread and first posted. So you probably submitted yours first, I assume.
