slick ??? for you guys

im in need of new slicks and plan to buy some here soon if it stop raining and i can see getting back to work. but anyway how much diff. have you guys seen going from old tired slicks to new slicks on the same set up.... right now i have 28/10.5 m/t but plan to step up to a 29/10 and a gear change from 4.57 to 5.13 ....jsut looking for info from old to new as i know the gear change will be a test....

about all thats close to me is 1/8 mile i have to drive 2hrs to get to a qt. track just to much hassel .....so 1/8 mile is all ill be shooting for...

All depends on how your car usses the tires now. I know my buddy's Stock Eliminator car would pick up a few hundreths, but he really beat the sidewallswitha stick and the tires were only 9" wide. If the car is scienced out, and your 60' is pretty steady, you may notice a little, but you're changing parts too, so that's out the window.

moper i plan to do just the tire change first then later change the gears after i make it down the track a few times....as far as my 60' go i think they should be way better then they are..pinion angle 6 nose down frame conn. mopar long drag shocks comp. 90/10 up front 5" of travel in the front the car for the most part 60' in the 1.64 to 1.70 range but its mostly the 1.64 range..i have buddys that has stock everything that goes 1.55/1.58 60' on old worn out tires .i think that my car is unloading the tire after the hit or the back shock is not long enough i think i have 1" maybe 2 with the shock off the car ...so i may order some ext. to try and some calvert 90/10 up front as well... it try to pull the wheels on the line but just do clear a hair .. maybe bob will see this an dpost on what he thinks about how the car leaves.....

im just stuck on why buddies cars go so much better in the 60' then my car does and i have put on the better parts and they or on 40 yr old parts ....makes me think your just better off leaveing things alone and go racing....i spent on shocks, new perchs,set pinion angle, ok shocks on front ....i dont even think 1 of them have frame conn.
