I got this for free...I think its a Holley 4175, vacuum secondary, electric choke, 600cfm.

I plan to use it on my 318, with performer RPM manifold. I will have to use a spreadbore adapter though...It seems kinda tall, dunno if that setup will clear the hood. Also will the stock throttle linkage work with this? Or should I use lokar or something similar?

Free is good Man. I got a holley 650 DP on the same manifold and my car reall 'woke up'

What year car,and type of hood are we talking here ?

My money is on it being to tall with a stock hood.Even with a drop down air-cleaner.The tall spacer is what will make it hit the hood.

I like an Ede 600 cfm on the 318.Runs well, and with a couple factory V8 pieces, hooks right up.

I run a crosswind air gap with a1/2" spacer and a 3" air cleaner with a drop base and it fits under the hood of my 68 barracuda.

Yes, it is a spread bore carb, and it is going in a 68 barracuda with the stock hood.
My 318 is slightly hopped up, with RHS heads from brian, the edelbrock RPM cam and lifters, (100 bucks at swap meet, cant complain, I know there are better cams) and hughes 1.5 roller rockers, headers, 3:55 sure grip.

Should I use a lockar throttle cable/bracket setup? or will the stock stuff work?

You didn't say what the list number was on the choke horn of the carby??????

Johnny, you do some purdy work dude. You still SUCK, though. LOL ....and the Edes are ok.....long as you don't wanna run fast. LMAO

yes its a 650 and you'll love it, holley jet kits and rebuild kits work great

The choice will be yours, but if you want to stick with the factory linkages, maybe I can help some.

The first pic/pics (old ugly blue 318) is with factory 2bbl linkage.
The second pic (orange 360) is with factory 4bbl linkage.

Look at the subtle difference's in the shape of the throttle bracket.
The 2 bbl bracket has the throttle cable flat, the 4bbl bracket has the cable vertical. These 4bbl brackets can be had on e-bay,swap meets, site friends ect.

The other difference is the top kickdown rod.Notice the difference in the two.
The 2bbl goes to the inside of the bracket, the 4bbl goes to the outside of the bracket. This rod can be a little tougher to find, but they out there.

I stuck with the 904,so the kickdown rods from the firewall to the trans all remained the same.

Hope this helps.

i had a 72 340 4speed challenger all origanal not rebuilt took it to carlsbad with the stock thermoquad ran 14.78 best took a out of the box holley spreadbore double pumper look just like that and ran 14.36 right off the bat. after a couple passes working with the extra wheel spin i ran 14.11 dont mean that the thermoquad was not as good but the tune on that holley was way better straight out of the box. every thing was better also started easyer throttle response was better and milage. i dont have that car anymore but since then i have made changes to th thermo and had the same succes but i have to tune them to get there.
